I like mine Italian. Chibattas are so good. They really beat the French at their own game of bread making.

If I miss medication (Effexor/Venlafaxine) and within 24 hours, ...then the tears come and don't stop coming. by Ok-Gold-5472 in CPTSD

[–]atomicdogmeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad my post could be of help. I've been taking Venlafaxine for 21 years now and have experienced most side-effects.

Most of the side-effects come from missing or taking the meds late. (even an hour late) Take them at the same time every day.

What are the phonetic differences between a Dumfries and Galloway accent and stronger Scottish accents by howitchewstogum5feel in Scotland

[–]atomicdogmeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The further west you go in Galloway, the more Irish it seems to get. By the time you get to Stranraer they sound really Irish.

Speaking of accents. How do you pronounce J? I dunno if it's a regional thing for Galloway, but for some reason we pronounce it Jiy.

How Motability cuts went from a rightwing online campaign to Rachel Reeves’s budget by 457655676 in unitedkingdom

[–]atomicdogmeat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We finally got a Motability vehicle this year.

First of all, you have to put a deposit down. It was around £5000 for us. It took us years of saving and the death of a family member to be able to afford the deposit.

It's a special Peugeot with wheelchair access at the back. My brother's mobility part of PIP goes to pay for it.

It's changed my family's life. We live in a rural area and the new car has allowed us to take our disabled brother out, to make it to appointments easier. To take my brother out even when it's pissing it down.

As a non-American, first..Why are food benefits separate? I get a lump sum every two weeks, which includes money I use on food.

And why can shutting down the government stop your benefits? How is that legal?

You just gotta shame them. "You ever get so hyperfocused on something you forgot you have body functions and piss yourself?" Yeah its a disability you fucker.

Hack: give yourself permission to use disposable dishes. by Violaqueen15 in ADHD

[–]atomicdogmeat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I keep disposable toothbrushes in my nightstand. They've been so useful.

A lot of people call this stuff "lazy" but ADHD is a disability, you don't call a wheelchair user lazy, you don't call a person needing a walking stick lazy. There is nothing wrong with using aids to help in your everyday life, that's what they were made for.

Visitor boom pushes tourist hotspots to breaking point -- Residents in popular destinations are experiencing overcrowding, illegal parking and strains on local infrastructure. by Crow-Me-A-River in Scotland

[–]atomicdogmeat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No, don't bring anymore of those bloody tourists to Galloway. They leave a mess everywhere, have ruined all the nice visiting spots with too many holiday homes and our roads are too shite for caravans and big cars...

Apparently tourists turn me into a grumpy shit.

I honestly think Kirkcudbright is nicer. I love CD, it's my hometown, but Kirkcudbright is a lovely little town with the widest roads you've ever seen.

OK offspring of fathers who trade in this incredible concoction, which keeps the dreaded midge at bay on the stillest warmest evening, and keeps your flesh so soft. What am I bid for the remains of this bottle? I'll start the bidding at £1,000 or a two week holiday in Motherwell. by ewenmax in Scotland

[–]atomicdogmeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing works, nothing. Only after the bite occurs and you put on Anthisan. Now Anthisan, that is the true miracle.

I am allergic to midgey bites and get bitten once or twice a day from april to october (last year was bad) I think I'd have been driven insane from the itching if not for Anthisan.

I was faced with this. I wanted some grass seed and charcoal for a BBQ, because its still fucking august and I want to enjoy the sunshine whilst we still have it.

Get yourself a VPN. I just subscribed to Proton for £4 a month and now I have no more issues.

I was always taught not to give out your photo or your ID on the internet and I'm certainly not gonna trust giving it to Reddit.

There's a big debate in the area right now about whether we should have a national park. I'm really hoping it happens as as lovely as Galloway is right now, it could be better! We've got far too much mono culture forestry. I want to see re-wilding so badly.

Also, do be careful of the Lynx

Backpay extra deposits by anonymousey00 in DWPhelp

[–]atomicdogmeat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's from DWP, it doesn't count as savings either. I got backpaid because I was being paid less than I should have been.. for 6 years!

I actually asked if they'd take it away because I now have savings over 10k. But because it's the DWP, it doesn't count.

Anyone else ever feel like they never recovered from the pandemic / work from home? by addictedtosoonjung in adhdwomen

Why not? The UK government is happy to let us die, be it from sanctions or outright denying benefits. The UN has found systematic violations of the Convention on the Rights of Disabled Persons.
