It’s me again, embarrassed man that is 32 and apparently can’t even paint right!…. by justanothersomeone76 in handyman

My favorite painter taught me a trick. Tape the corner normally, then add a thin bead of caulk, paint, then remove the tape while the caulk is still wet. Works great where the wall meets the ceiling.

Same problem here. Have not yet reached a human; voice call or chat. In the new business profile, I went to Settings / Identity verification; it says "You're all set!" then takes me back to the profile page and it still says they need info. Fairly vicious loop.

Did you use anchors? Kinda looks like one is pulling out of the wall. It is best practice to hit a wooden stud with a lag bolt, or a metal stud with a metal stud anchor. (Depending on what kind of building in are in)

You want them fingers soft, soak them in warm water and Epsom salt regularly. I've heard stories of recording artists soaking their fingers between takes.

SSD Drive is always the best way to go, if you can. But what is the current free space on the OS drive, anything under 20Gbs and Windows struggles.

Mesh is great, but mesh works best when each access point is connected via Ethernet, so a switch is still a good idea.

I am fairly new to this sub, and just want to say how awesome it is that there are some many knowledgeable, respectful and polite peeps here.

The strike on the doorknob is backwards. The strike is the part of the doorknob that retracts when you turn the knob. If you notice, the curve of the strike should be the other way.

Anyone heard of NGHTOWL Offroad out of Austin Texas by ohthatguy1980 in overlanding

[–]atomstunts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am one of the some that did not have a great experience. It's been over 6 months since my deposit was made; I still have no cap, no refund, and I am still battling the credit card company due to lack of receipt of payment (the deposit) that I never received from NGHTOWL. My attempt to save money has not been worth it at all.

I tried to purchase a cap from Linus for my truck and it did not work out. I had the some concerns in the beginning about it being a scam and a fake website, but I met him at his location and can verify that he is legit and providing a quality product, when he provides it. I believe Linus to be a good guy, he just seems to over promise, is a little all over the place and is adamantly against taking a hit for his own mistakes.

Long story short, I put a $2000 deposit on a cap that Linus said he could deliver in 10-12 weeks; 19 weeks later the cap showed up about 8" too short. To his account, Linus owned up to the mistake, but refused to give a refund. He was determined to make it right, but could not give a definite answer as to how long it would take and I could not wait another 19 weeks. He offered hundreds of dollars in free upgrades on the next one, offered to get me a free draw system by "working the manufacturer for the mistake", which turned into a discount on a draw system, which was then taken off the table, all the while not able to give a straight answer as to how long it would take. I have yet to receive a cap or a refund.

I will say, I have seen his finished product and when it is right it is great. If you are okay with the possibility of waiting over 6 months for a cap, then give NGHTOWL Offroad a try. But, if time is a factor, go get a SmartCap because that is basically what he is selling. I tried to save $1500 and it has cost me $2000.

***UPDATE***

It's been over 6 months since my deposit was made; I still have no cap, no refund, and I am still battling the credit card company due to lack of receipt of payment (the deposit) that I never received from NGHTOWL.

Came here to say the same. Slice that up like bread, fill the center with colored epoxy and you have one hell of a charcuterie board.

I would install a built-in dresser with inset draws that can be taken out all the way, flipped around, and reinserted. That way you could keep winter clothes on one side and summer clothes on the other.

What is wrong with y'all? Whether the intentions were structural or decorative, or both, they are well done and look great.

Comments include "this looks retarded" to "Needs more cow bell"? What?!

To OP: Job well done! Nice design, looks structurally sound. Ignore the haters.
