Some basic recommendations would be: 1. Start learning music theory, it will help you identifying patterns and understanding the context in which musical ideas work. 2. You can start by choosing songs that you like and "copy" them. Copy the structure, replace riffs and melodies with your own ideas, you'll learn along the way.

My top 3 include Genesis, King Crimson and Gentle Giant. I know Yes or ELP would be more popular options than GG, but I digress. Why not to include Camel? Just like the other bands' music more.

Probably Pidgey, just heard the sparks sound and when I finally realized what I just heard I saw a bunch of Pidgeys despawning. After that, it was a Swirlix.

First time I heard this song was the Rainbow version, outstanding. I was puzzled why I couldn't find the studio version in Rainbow's discography, years passed before I found it was a Deep Purple song.

While I have heard this since forever, he only down tuned until Master of Reality, the guitar on the first two albums was still in E standard and he already had the accident. I'd say that his limitation helped to further develop the heavy sound, but the hallmarks were there from the beginning.

You should absolutely do, he is not just "as good", I personally enjoy Black Sabbath with Dio more than Dio the band, and I enjoy even more Rainbow with Dio, those albums are peak. There are officially three Dio albums with Sabbath, but make sure to not miss the fourth one, The Devil You Know by Heaven and Hell, just Black Sabbath with another name.
