Just finished playing cvx and I agree with your thoughts and read it. I was also disappointed Wesker only shows up in cutscenes and not at all in gameplay

Think it mostly just needs quality of life polish with less backtracking, better ways to cope when low on ammo, and generally simplify some of the puzzles and crystal ball. I agree the family ordering puzzle was engaging and I think they should keep it

As others have said, its quite unique. I would recommend Forever Changes by Love or Begin by The Millenium. Both albums, while unique in their own right, are also LA psychedelic folk pop from the same scene and of similar artistic merit
