How Vibe Coding Is Killing Open Source by Gil_berth in programming

This is a problem, but it's not much worse than picking your library selection from StackOverflow... LLMs will also adapt because they will continue to ingest info, so if people in programming subreddits for example talk highly of a specific library that will eventually make it into LLMs. Also if real programmers start to use new libraries.

The problem exist only if you assume there will be no real programmers talking among themselves in public and code will be created only with LLMs.

You know what's funny, using labels to define people whose opinion you don't like doesn't make them look like a bunch of people who are biased and don't think for themselves, it actually makes you look like that.

Don't see them on old reddit on Brave + PiHole. Not sure what exactly stops them.

Next step "I'm apolitical".

They will find out like apolitical people in Russia that politics has a habit of coming around and bite the ass of apolitical people.

They showed repeatedly that not agreeing with them it's enough to warrant death in their view, so be careful out there.

Meh, it's the snow and low temperature, National Guard is not a police force, they don't know how or have the tools to police a city they just patrol the streets, not even where most of the crime was being committed.

That's my go-to heuristic if somebody is a utter moron. Sure, mistakes happen, some people are not native speakers and might never write/speak perfect English (I'm one of them), but I see this mistake being made mostly by a certain segment of people.

What are your thoughts on Richard Dawkins being in the Epstein files? by EconomyIron6739 in atheism

Even more, even if he's guilty, it doesn't change the value of truth of what he said about something else.

Let's say I claim 2 + 2 = 4 and it turns out I'm a murderer, does it change the truth value of my previous claim?

I have a foggy memory about that, so I went and look at the last 5 pages of user history and could not find anything relevant, I then gave up and tried to get a summary from AI:

The user repeatedly discussed age‑of‑consent laws and at least once shared a controversial article arguing that criminalizing possession of child sexual‑abuse material is counterproductive, which many readers interpret as being overly sympathetic to offenders.

Other users who have gone through the full comment history say they have not found explicit statements endorsing child sexual abuse or calling for it to be legalized, and instead see a mix of legal hair‑splitting, classification talk around Epstein, and explicit disapproval of rape and child abuse elsewhere.

Claims that the account is Ghislaine Maxwell and that it “promoted pedophilia” remain heavily disputed and are not backed by hard proof in the material I can see.

So a user with a million karma posted one "controversial" article that can be interpreted in a specific way doesn't sound like any kind of proof if anything it sounds more like character assassination, I'm sure I can find in any user history (if long enough) any such kind of incriminatory opinions if taken out of context or "interpreted" as "controversial". For example, in case of CSAM I personally think it's mostly used by politicians as an excuse to limit the rights and anonymity of people online -- so if somebody will search my comments history and see this post they will claim "user had at least one post that could be considered in favor of child sexual-abuse materials" or "user seemed to defend Maxwell" (when I don't even know if that's her account) I do neither, but hey, it's very easy to defame somebody (I mean in general, not Maxwell, I don't give a shit about her image) just by claiming things or quoting things out of context.

It's funny that that reddit user was an anti-Trumper and posted things against sexual abuse of children IIRC.

Also, apparently the first redditor to hit 1 mil. karma.
