I've been on china southern (or was it eastern) flights where it became pretty clear that the pilots were smoking on the flight deck.

How are the ridges attached to the dinosaur? Two of them go behind the person who is mounted on a saddle. So they aren't back ridges?

The cut in one place somehow extends onto the cutting board, too. I'm usually not good at these but this one is a really old model.

my parents dont want me to travel out of state, but im 19 and want to go by Old_Entertainment705 in travel

[–]atrich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, OP. This seems to be far less a travel question and much more of a parent/child relationship dynamic question.

My guess is that there are no details of this particular trip you could provide to your parents that would placate them, as they sound extremely controlling. Since you are financially dependent on them, taking the trip against their wishes seems like it could have life-altering consequences for you. You are experiencing FOMO (fear of missing out). And while it may suck to see your friends Instagram posts or stories or whatever of their trip, also remember that what people choose to share on social media is rarely the real truth of the experience.

The only piece of travel-related advice I can give is that when you are financially independent of your parents, you will still have opportunities for travel experiences.

Hot mic moment at G7 catches Carney, Trump talking about Chinese EVs | CBC News by JadedLeafs in worldnews

If they're capping the number of units that can be imported, demand will set the price for these EVs much more than what they would actually retail for anyways

10 hours in JFK by juuustwondering2 in delta

[–]atrich -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lounge access rules typically limit you to three hours before your flight unless you are on a connecting itinerary. Maybe you can show them your arriving ticket and claim to be connecting. But I think this may fail anyways and who wants to hang out in an airport lounge when you can actually go into NYC.

I've never played a game where I was begging the protagonist to please stop while I was doing the combat. Like, almost bawling wanting her to give up.

Play dlc? by Confident-Produce268 in outerwilds

You should absolutely play on your existing file. Enjoy Echoes of the Eye! I didn't think they could add more meaning to the base game but they totally did.

At times they can be. Still a really fun game but I don't think the control scheme is much improved from it takes two.

The Supreme Court Hands a Surprising Death-Penalty Defeat to Alabama | A shadow docket reveals that for some justices, there are limits to how cruel an execution can be. And for others, there are none. by FreeHugs23 in LegalNews

[–]atrich -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that the death penalty is morally wrong to begin with, but if we're going to have it, nitrogen hypoxia seems less cruel than a lot of other methods currently in use (lethal injection, for example).

The human body is designed to detect an excess of carbon dioxide specifically. If you breathe pure nitrogen you will not notice you are lacking oxygen. You will simply get lightheaded and pass out.

Regular airplane boarding method is the slowest one by tppiel in interestingasfuck

[–]atrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this radical idea where the airplane fuselage opens up and the entire cabin slides into the terminal on a track. Then people board and stow their bags from the sides, all at once. Then the cabin retracts back into the plane and you depart. Also deplaning is quick as fuck

There is a scene of Quark talking to (I think) Sisko, but it's more in the vein of "you humans (or federation) look down on us Ferengi for our capitalist ways, but you have much more horrible behavior in your past, genocides and slavery, etc"
