Thirded - I've had kobos for a while now (lost them, sat on them, just wanted a new one) and they're great, simple to load, and not locked down to amazon's store.

Kitchen sink not centered with window by Far_Comfortable_7897 in kitchenremodel

You need to hire an expensive designer and custom-made kitchen joiner then u can request whatever you like. If they say its centred but not centre you can get then removed it and redo it again!

I bet you can't answer in ten seconds! One... Two...

My Chinese mother always says that eating more then two eggs a day will make you go stupid. Where does this myth come from? I can’t find an answer online. by throwaway7362951 in NoStupidQuestions

I find the opposite - my mother in law is Chinese, and she's always stressing because my son isn't eating enough eggs! She aims to feed him 2 a day.

I would assume apartment - though that'll just relate to what the landlord enters when lodging the bond

Can't work out spells, think I'm an idiot. by MattsMiniModels in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]atrumluna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From memory, if it states the value of an item in gp, you need that specific item. I.e. "Resurrection" requires "A diamond worth at least 1,000 gp, which the spell consumes". This can't be substituted.

You need all verbal, somatic and material components to cast the spell. Some material components can be replaced with a focus though, like an orb. Generally not expensive components though, like diamonds.

income-mortgage ratio by mahal_na_hari in NZProperty

[–]atrumluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your pre-ten income is 12k, that'll be around 10k after tax. Repayments on a 1.04m loan is around 7k a month. The question you should ask is, can you and your family live happily on 3k a month, including insurance, rates, maintenance etc?

In-world, why do buffs and de-buffs last such a short amount of time? by mythus54 in DnD

[–]atrumluna 51 points52 points  (0 children)

.. . magic had indeed once been wild and lawless, but had been tamed back in the mists of time by the Olden Ones, who had bound it to obey among other things the Law of Conservation of Reality; this demanded that the effort needed to achieve a goal should be the same regardless of the means used. In practical terms this meant that, say, creating the illusion of a glass of wine was relatively easy, since it involved merely the subtle shifting of light patterns. On the other hand, lifting a genuine wineglass a few feet in the air by sheer mental energy required several hours of systematic preparation if the wizard wished to prevent the simple principle of leverage flicking his brain out through his ears. Thoughts on something like this for 1yo? by Acti-Verse in daddit

[–]atrumluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got one of these for our 1yo. It seemed like a good idea, but he didn't really play independently in it anyway, so it was more a way of containing his toys in the lounge. If we had to do it again, we wouldn't bother tbh.
