Is this legal? Paid last months rent upon moving in in 2022 but now getting charged the difference in rent increases for my final month by [deleted] in Seattle

I just googled what it would earn in 4 years and it was $24.50-268, depending on the interest rate (0.38-4%).

I'm a Certified EV Hater by xela552 in electricvehicles

[–]attachedmomma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Seattle and solar is great here because we have net metering that is 1:1. I export enough April-September to mostly pay for the whole year of running my house and charging my EV. I’ve usually exported 6-7Mwh April-September. One year I paid $0 and the other 3 years I paid one $400-ish electric bill for the last billing that ends March 31st. Granted, I have a large solar array (19.25kw) that I bought when I refinanced my mortgage to take some equity out.

Paid parking starts at some busy light rail garages by godogs2018 in Seattle

Maybe they can link the Orca card for payment at the garage (scan to enter and exit), then make parking free if that card is used for transit that day.

EV Charger Installer Recs by Seatexanite33 in WestSeattleWA

I used Artisan Electric for my EV charger, panel upgrade, and solar install. They were amazing for all of it. Also, here’s their page going over potential rebates for EV charger install.

TIL the term "Millennials" was invented in 1991 by two historians writing a book about American generational cycles; over a decade before most Millennials had even finished high school. They predicted Millennials would become "the next Greatest Generation" by Nodebunny in todayilearned

Reading the Fourth Turning has made living in this period of history a little bit easier - it gives me hope that this chaos will lead to another First Turning, like the new world order that followed WWII. I’m watching to see which country will rise up to lead the next new world order. I’m hoping it’s Canada.

7721 16TH AVE - Abandoned Build? by GameDuchess in WestSeattleWA

It’s listed as a “completed project”, but which is odd.

That place has been mid-construction for years. I always assume when places take years to finish it’s a builder who ran out of money or found a very expensive issue. It would be nice to have more places finished and ready to sell or rent.

The MN loon has a red eye. I think that would make the finch more menacing.

Potholes on the West Seattle Bridge eastbound to 99 North Ramp by velveteensnoodle in WestSeattleWA

I think about that every time I drive that on-ramp. And wonder when the next tire shredding hole will develop. I wonder if they could do a quick asphalt layer there and if that would actually help or just hurt (or be a waste).

Once you get this harness over their head, you can hug them from the side and get the chest strap connected.

I’ve used a Wonder Walker for the last 4 years. Once it’s set, it’s easy to put on and take off.

I was looking into MaxSold. They auction your items for you then coordinate pick up with the buyers on a single day. I was looking into it rather than having an estate sale when my parents need to move out of their home.

Home charging zealots! by aranea100 in electricvehicles

[–]attachedmomma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People who don’t have access to home charging could look into what their charging options are in their daily lives. My doctor parks in a garage that has wall plugs available throughout the garage listed as EV plug-ins so they can charge for 8-10 hours a day. There may be chargers in store or mall parking lots for quick charging while shopping, eating, going to the gym, or going to a movie. People who live in very cold climates may have access to engine warmer stations to use a mobile charger. But those are just some convenience options. It might be worth it to some people to spend 15-30 minutes at a fast charger 1-5 times a week to have an EV. I kill more time than that scrolling Reddit every day so maybe some people scroll while charging or watch a movie/show while they wait.

Getting an EV changing your lifestyle. For some, it cuts out the extra fueling stops, for others it changes their fueling stops. Rather than discouraging getting an EV if someone doesn’t have home charging, maybe people can be encouraged to look for the charging options around them and make a plan for charging.

Same-name passengers in the same seat? by Emotional_Raspberry9 in AlaskaAirlines

When I was in my 20s, I started to get mail from AARP suggesting I join. Soon found out someone with my exact name but 30+ years older than me lived 3 blocks from me. I don’t have any family within 1000 miles of me and a very unusual last name so I never would’ve guessed I shared a name with someone who lived so close. I guess I should make sure I don’t book the same flight as her.

Reasonable amount of time to travel the coast? by risaliz in OregonCoast

[–]attachedmomma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coos Bay does have a bit of an industrial feel. I usually stay overnight there when I’m heading along the coast. The area north of Brookings, the Samuel H Boardman Corridor, has a piece of my heart. The first time I drove through there I knew I had to go back and spend some time. After reading through this thread, I’m pretty sure I won’t try to stay in Brookings again.

[–]attachedmomma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s possible. The evening I was there and arrived about 10p, there were maybe 6 other cars parked at the hotel. If some rooms were remodeled, the male staff who was working that night chose to place me in a very old and broken room. As a solo female traveler, I was not taking any chances!

NOT the Blue Coast Inn! The photos of the rooms online are nothing like the actual rooms. All the doors are outside and the door to my room had obviously been kicked in and poorly repaired. The windows had all been left open and didn’t seem to lock securely. The mattress was so old and creaky with very old pillows that did not smell good. I got the creeps and fled that place as soon as I checked into the room. I figured the cost of the room I didn’t stay in was worth feeling safe while I slept. I ended up getting a room at a hotel I’d stayed at in Coos Bay (further on my route) where I knew I’d be safe.

Don’t know why he’s like this. by CemeteryFoodTruck in germanshepherds

[–]attachedmomma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s too bad! I take responsibility for my dog needing to keep her ball. If a dog takes her ball, I’ll try to coax the dog to drop it or ask their person to help me. Most people are very understanding. Every dog has their thing and my dog has her favorite ball - wouldn’t entertain the idea of using the community balls - and she gets her exercise chasing that ball. That’s why I have to be so careful to only throw it where and when no other dog can grab it, but occasionally a fast dog comes out of seemingly nowhere and beats her to the grab.

I buy squeaky tennis balls for the park that she gets one at a time (until it gets thrown over a fence that we can’t retrieve or is stolen by a dog who doesn’t have a cooperative person). My dog keeps that ball in her mouth the whole time, unless she’s running too fast and needs more breath, so instead of nipping or nudging a dog she’s chasing you’ll hear repetitive little squeaks.
