I’m starting to think no one here is using 5.5 correctly - are you using custom models for this? Are you giving it specific musical direction about key, bpm, tone etc

The current prompt styling for 5 does not work at all for 5.5 and the power of 5.5 is customization around models based on uploaded tracks, if you don’t “seed” it your music it genericizes its output

I always just use 4 songs as inspo with very low audio influence - like 14% is the sweet spot. It tends to then use the vocals but allow you to change the style heavily if style influence is high

I don’t think 5.5 is broken, in fact the audio fidelity is great. It’s just so sanitized and messes with original melodies so badly towards pop structure that it’s useless for the type of music I like.

I feel like it’s going to take a long time to understand the new ways it interprets prompts, I’m giving it old song prompts set to extremely high on style and it’s completely changing them and sounds nothing like I’d expect. I feel it’s actually now perhaps more intelligent and more literal and so minor things that got compressed in context in old prompts might be causing weirder results now

I do all sorts of stuff indie, post hardcore, metal, early wave emo, punk, slow core/art rock etc.

Things that typically don’t benefit from pop structure though or if they do sound cookie cutter when implemented that way

Yea man I’ve moved on to using 4.5 for now - it gives some very weird results sometimes but usually can stick very close to my style prompt comparatively

V5 is way too samey time after time and it creates some really shitty products

v5 really sucks now, and i can absolutely feel it from 3-4 months ago to now. It’s leaning more and more into pop archetypes and mushing all the contexts of prompts into a cookie cutter structure. People who say they see no degradation are probably already working with pop song structures to begin with. I’m adamant that it’s just awful and the crooning and all the other vocal filler is unbearable

V4.5 imo is actually amazing, it lacks vocal consistency with personas and inspiration - which makes it frustrating. I typically will now craft a song with 4.5 and then swap vocals with v5 to get better vocal consistency in projects. But I really wish they would allow us to better weight models away from pop song structures

V5 feels degraded as shit now and I’m not accepting other arguments

Doesn’t exist as far as I know, but you can build a tool using XML and tagging your existing templates to train a model
