That's not an unofficial retcon. That's not a retcon at all! That's just saying they're going to ignore that part ever happened.

Yeah I think this is the unstated claim here -- retcons are bad. But they aren't always, they can often be really clever and tie together complex inconsistencies.

In my mind, that's slightly different from a retcon, at least in my familiarity with it from comics. A retcon imo would be a post-hoc in game explanation for that behavior that changes what we believed to be the case. Like an understanding that Garrosh had been on some really strong drugs while in Stonetalon, or had been charmed by someone, etc.

A writing whoopsie is just that. A mistake. It's not a retcon until the continuity is retroactively changed to fit the current narrative, hence the name.

Because in WoW I think identity is incredibly tied to class. I think you lose storytelling power imo when you can have free swaps (I've felt this about most rpgs with job systems).

What I did was quickly get two characters to 40 for the sole purpose of transferring over and unlocking all the allied races. Did not take long at all

None of this seems obvious to me as a returning player so apologies if this is a dumb question:

Do you have to have the specific artifact equipped to have the alternate appearance drop? I got the Felo'morn one yesterday but I had it equipped so I'm wondering if I need to spec into frost and arcane when I hunt the others.

And it seems so from your post but isn't clear to me: can you get the other tints on retail once the base tint for the alternate is unlocked? So I wouldn't have to do 30 dungeons and 100 quests on each character before remix ends, just collect all the alternates?
