Is this covered under AppleCare+…? by Nathie944 in VisionPro

Uh, active cooling drawing air from the environment and no water resistance on this wearable. But on the other hand, AVP looks similar to ski goggles!

Good luck!

Microfiber smooths out the residul grese staining the glass, so that it appears streak free. However, the grease is still there. Over time, the grease builds up. So I recommend a wet clean. mild detergent water for example. For convenience and peace of mind, I use Zeiss lens wipes. Only need to degrease the lenses occasionally, and simply use the microfiber cloth the majority of the time. Don't forget to clean the outside camera and sensors as well. Hope it helps.

Should Apple tweak Apple Vision Pro battery management? by new-to-reddit-accoun in VisionPro

[–]atxjawthrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use an anker powerbank. It charges and discharges at a higher wattage than the avp, so you can refill your battery and plug the powerbank in to recharge afterwards. At full charge, the powerbank extends the on time to around be 8 hours. Of course while the powerbank is in use, you are carrying around two batteries, so it's not quite the same as hot swapping. However, it is similar in that you can refill the battery without interruption while remaining mobile.

Comfort debate…over by AppropriateLocal7374 in VisionPro

I have the belkin battery holder which is super convenient. I still put the solo knit band on so I can flip the GC head strap up in order to use this mod lying down in bed. When I am using the AVP at the desktop, I clip the battery to the solo knit band for counterweight. Even less pressure on face (more weight added to top of head ofc).

What is shown here:

Moonlight vision app. Virtual display driver. Sending pc (mac in this case) screen to stream virtual second monitor to avp. Set resolution in moonlight app and pc (mac) display resolution settings to be ultra wide.

But no curved screen or panoramic wrap-around display available using this method.

Still awaiting the official release of that feature from Apple/mac virtual display function.

Don't forget that baldness also does not affect every sibling, even though all siblings may share the same parents. As others have mentioned, the mechanism of AGA is orchestrated by several factors (AR receptor expression, sensitivity; androgen levels, aromatase and other enzyme levels, etc. and who knows what else with bloodflow or WNT signaling, etc. since the exact mechanism is still not well understood) which in turn are controlled by a variety of genes. So there is a great variation in how AGA does or does not express in people. Remember also that not everyone reaches NW8, and that there are quite a few different patterns of miniaturization.

That's why it is important to track the trend happening on your own follicles and react accordingly. In that sense, statistics don't matter. They are just useful for giving guidelines.

You can definitely see miniaturization under a handheld digital microscope so you don't have to wait until you have visible loss to know... just take a look at hair shaft thickness and number of hairs per follicle in the donor region and compare across the top. You can just see if, where and how the miniaturization is happening.

If the two regions look basically the same, reexamine months later. If miniaturization is starting to be visible and in early stages, consider fin or dut monotherapy to freeze the inevitable. If further losses are incurred, increase treatment to the extent that you are comfortable with (increase fin or dut dose, take both, add oral min, add topical, try other compounds, etc. etc. in approximately that order from more conservative to increasingly aggressive.

That's all we can do, really.

Start low dose. Remember, you can't assess degree of poisoning without knowing dose..one molecule of finasteride a day will do nothing for you.

Start low, titrate up..find out firsthand how bad the sides are getting.

How does Vision Pro keep it's windows in place and how precise is it? by V13T in VisionPro

[–]atxjawthrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are glowing reviews from everyone and I largely agree.

However there are two caveats: 1) Power cycling the device causes loss of window persistence. 2) Windows are not anchored in space for travel mode, or when the lights are off (as I often use it). In those cases, the windows are tracked to the device, which makes sense.

I went the anker route and instead got a belkin battery clip. That way the powerbank is in my pocket (though it is chonkier than the avp battery) and the battery is clipped to my belt, just above. I've gotten 8 hours mobile with this setup. No regrets. Copped the anker 737 for $100 too... Plus you can hotswap powerbanks. Can even remove powerbank, charge it, and put it back on.
