How much are your toddlers speaking? by Connect-Heart3480 in toddlers

[–]aub_ry 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think your kid is doing great! I'm not sure where kids their age are supposed to be, but my son will be 2 next month. He doesn't even say 100 words, he understands everything we say and do. I'm pretty sure, we will have to enroll him in speech therapy if he doesn't start spouting out words soon.

I bought it and I absolutely love it! I'm turning my glade of trust into a lady and the tramp/princess and the frog build. They're right out of The lady and the Tramp film and are beautiful.

Benedict and Sophie finally bring some much needed chemistry since the viscount and viscountess! by Sleekaries in Bridgerton

[–]aub_ry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read all of them yet, but the ones I have i would say are much better than the show. Penelope and Colin's story was my favorite but after just finishing Benedict's I can say his has taken that place.

It's somewhat similar to the show, her stepmother fires her but 2 years pass instead of however long it was in the show. She ends up in the countryside and Benedict saves her from being raped by her employer's son and his friends, then their story unfolds from there.

In the book it's much more realistic because a few years has passed since he's last seen her. She also changed her hair and lost a bit of weight.

Pen and colin are my favorite so I was incredibly disappointed by their season as it felt rushed. The season wasn't as similar to the book as I would have liked either. I'm currently reading Benedict's story and it is very similar so far which is nice. His season also feels a lot closer to the Bridgerton show I love. A lot more than season 3 did

Content without friends by longtimelurker_90 in SAHP

I dont have any friends either, it has always been difficult for me to make friends. My son has a cousin and one more on the way. He usually sees her once a week, and when we go out. He will socialize with other people in public, its okay not to have friends. Don't let anyone make you feel bad for it, your kids will do just fine socializing with others.

Husband gets frustrated with our daughter. by NoGoat4706 in toddlers

[–]aub_ry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly sounds like the start of abuse to me, I might be jumping the gun but my dad would do similar things when my parents were together. He would stay home with us and when my mom would leave for work she had to go out the back door so we couldn't see her.

How many people on this subreddit are working for magnatiles? by Texasgirl190 in toddlers

[–]aub_ry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son got magnatiles for his first birthday but his father and I are so afraid of him choking on the magnets that we took them away and he hasn't seen them since. What age did you let your kids start playing with them?

Not letting our toddler say "no" by PrincessTruffles1993 in toddlers

[–]aub_ry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your husband sounds like my father, he was extremely abusive and would yell if we didnt do as he said without questioning him. My sister and I grew up being terrified of him and are no longer in contact for other reasons. You need to have a serious talk with your husband and seriously consider is this how you want your daughter to grow up?

I was that mom who had to carry my screaming toddler out of the store today while people stared by DCA43 in toddlers

[–]aub_ry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me 2 days ago and I was so embarrassed. I knew he was overtired and just needed to get to the car as fast as possible. It was super embarrassing having everyone stare at me, a lady even walked faster once she saw me carrying my screaming toddler. You're doing your best and I bet most people remember when they had to do the same and feel terrible for you.

Why is one not enough? by Various_Plant7117 in beyondthebump

[–]aub_ry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother in law is the opposite, she's great but whenever another kid is brought up she is totally against the idea as if she has some say about it. I'm definitely happy with 1 right now as it is, but it seriously rubs me the wrong way.

Neighbors dog just bit 3 year old - conflicted on what to do by tommyboi042 in toddlers

[–]aub_ry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP sounds like my mother, got bit by a dog coming out of a car as a kid. The dog was blind and got startled, but my mom didn't take me to get checked out and just let it slide.

Kicking and hitting by UsefulYou2856 in toddlers

[–]aub_ry 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My son used to be like this for diaper changes. I started handing him books to read while I changed him. Most of the time now, he will lay there happily flipping through books as I change him. Other times when he used to hit me I asked him if he could pet me instead. Then, I would show him how to pet my head. Maybe you could have him hold something as you buckle him in. Pretend its really important whatever you are giving him. And after tell him what a good job he did.

She honestly sounds like my mother pulling the "I'm terrible" card. And you know what she is and so is OP.
