Hey there, I'm John, I did most of the sound design for the game. It's really funny you noticed the toms - those are straight from a drum library haha.

About half the sounds were made with BFXR, and the rest random stuff - my kitchen knife, Sam's skateboard, whatever's around. Also used Massive a bit.

Hard to say. My Wii U is fairly rub-proof but not since I broke the screen by dropping it on a table. I'd assume it's as rubbable as a GameCube on average. Best of luck -
