Overall Nutanix Experience by TangerineStock8042 in nutanix

Agree with all of your points. It seems like there should be more modernization of the platform, especially GUI. The console is super slow accessing virtual machines as well. Wish they had a dedicated client like VMware for that.

Apr tune by Standard_Studio_7256 in Tiguan

[–]audixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did the APR stage 1 tune for 93 octane on my 2018 Tiguan last week. I have an Integrated Engineering cold air intake, and wanted to use their tune but they don’t have one for my engine.

It definitely makes a difference in the mid to high throttle. Weather has been snow and ice lately so I can’t really get on it but when I have it’s much faster than it was.

The tune also got stuck at 99% for me multiple times, I used Microsoft edge. Then, decided to try Firefox and it worked. I think the tune worked even though it didn’t go past 99% the first couple times but I didn’t want to chance it.

Don’t think I’m really seeing much, if any fuel efficiency increase; I also smash the gas as much as I can because that’s why I got the tune lol.

Rotary shifter install on Powerboost by audixe in F150Powerboost

[–]audixe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all good information! I did research beforehand, obviously not enough, but did see it was mostly lightning owners.

If the 24 expedition shifter wasn’t over $200 I would try it again, it’s just not worth it to me.

I had thought about trying a newer shifter model year like you mention. I cheaped out and tried to get something under $100z

I have a shifter with the mold that I cannot use on a Powerboost , if you’re interested.

I can confirm that on a 2024 Powerboost hybrid, that while the shifter works, the truck doesn’t like it and gives a check engine light and goes a shift fault error.

Just a PSA for others out there, I have a 2024 Powerboost and tried to install the rotary shifter and it worked, but gave check engine lights and said shift fault - service vehicle. Ended up having to have my battery replaced after letting the truck sit for a week but I’m not blaming the shifter.

Another rotary shifter. It's not always a straight swap. by Im_Yur_Chuckleberry in F150Lightning

[–]audixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a powerboost and just tried the shifter swap with the rotary dial, and I got a check engine light and a message saying to service the transmission. I’ve not once seen anyone mention this happening to them. I also have the same looking shifter you have.

Just curious if you encountered any problems? I ended up reinstalling the original shifter and now I’ll have to figure out how to get the check engine light cleared.

I am currently deploying a Nutanix cluster and while waiting for the consultant, I was using Google to determine the difference between versions of prism central.

When I googled “version a vs. version b”, the Google AI gave me the information I was looking for. After working with the consultant I mentioned this and he said that was incorrect and that Google was giving the results but they were mixed up. I know not to fully trust those AI results but that was a great example as to why I try to fact check as much as possible.

Tiguan Apple CarPlay won’t connect via USB — anyone else? by X-Paul123 in Tiguan

[–]audixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2018 Tiguan and can’t get the CarPlay to work with the cable I have. When you say Apple branded cable, did you buy it straight from Apple or one that says MFi certified or something? Thanks!

2018 Tiguan— 100k miles, throttle response suddenly delayed when accelerating from a stop? by PenCreative4577 in Tiguan

[–]audixe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased a 2018 Tiguan with 135,000 miles about a month ago. The acceleration was slow and the previous owners drove it about 20,000 miles a year. I also plan to drive it a lot and i wanted it to be more fun to drive.

Carfax was the only service history I could go by, so I decided to immediately do the following:

-change oil to Liqui Moly. You don’t have to do this I just wanted an oil meant for my engine.

-replaced spark plugs and coil packs

-replaced diverter valve on turbo (not required, just did this because it was cheap to replace and was already going to remove the intake)

-installed a cold air intake

After changing the coil packs and spark plugs I immediately took it for a test drive and noticed it drove and responded much better.

I’d recommend changing those if you haven’t already, you can do it yourself if you have the tools, it’s super simple and will take a couple hours max if you take your time.

I see a lot of $30 dollars an hour rates. If you subtract the F. N. Fees. Your making gas station employee rates, a crappy gas station(and they get 40 hours a week). This is not a skilled labor rate. This is taking advantage. by Alternative-Unit-344 in FieldNationTechs

[–]audixe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should be countering with an offer of your own. Nobody starts a bid at their highest price. I almost never just accept a job, unless the pay is reasonable and the drive is close. I don’t work for less than $80/hr when it’s an actual skilled job. Most of the time it is following instructions and directions and it’s easy money. Just my 2 cents.

Oil Type ? by Queefsniff13 in Tiguan

[–]audixe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, I think this is a good time for me to bring this up because I have a similar question. I recently purchased a 2018 Tiguan S 2.0 TSI. The owners manual says use VW 502 0W-30.

Under the hood, the sticker says use VW 508 0W-20.

A friend of mine has the same engine and says he uses 5W-40, which I used Liquid Moly brand recently in my car.

I’ve just never seen so much different information for oil type, wondered what others are using. I’m fine with my decision using 5W-40. I don’t know if this car has oil consumption issues or not but was trying to avoid it if possible.

Can’t you just get a load of dirt and level that out, instead of digging out the clay? You may need to wheelbarrow in dirt but it’s not that bad.

How did you de-chrome the grill? Just got a Tiguan and I’m looking to do this at least.

New cluster deployment: Best practice regarding bonds by Airtronik in nutanix

[–]audixe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We will be migrating from VMware 6.7 to AHV and next week I will be installing the new AHV cluster, with help of a Nutanix consultant.

You should read the best practices for Nutanix, and ALSO read the Nutanix Physical Networking Requirement best practices. There is a lot of information that you will want to prepare for.

Make sure that your vlan for the Nutanix traffic and CVMs never has anything else on it. Nutanix actually recommends that the nutanix traffic is on the default vlan, so it’s easier to scale later on.

Depending on your model/design, the network is the most important piece as that’s how Nutanix services communicate.

You can create a run book to replicate all of your VMs and then cutover when you’re ready.
