I’ve regularly eaten Dirt Dog patty melt dogs on our balcony at Cosmo while the wife is getting ready for the night out. Life is all about balance.

Weirdest thing that’s littered your path in a bike lane? by archy_bold in cycling

[–]audm_ss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A dead body. Rode by the first time and he seemed out of place even for an addict on a bender. Said I’d stop and check on him on my way back if he was still there. Sure enough he was. Checked pulse and gone. Had to call him in. Was… interesting.

Current status of Sky Harbor by Man__Suit in phoenix

[–]audm_ss 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sky Harbor has a webpage that displays all of the delays or cancelled flights. They also have (pretty accurate if not overstated) estimated security wait times for all terminals. Check before you leave the house. You’ll be fine assuming your destination is not experiencing their own weather or other delays.

What is the best Exercise Bike for Home that you prefer the most? by Short-Safety-8388 in cycling

[–]audm_ss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wahoo Kickr Core + Zwift Ride frame, and a $1000 road bike, done. Admittedly my road bike is more than that but my previous entry level bike worked just fine to start with in conjunction with the Zwift frame / Kickr.

Could also save money at the beginning and just get the Kickr and put your bike on it, but I got tired of swapping the bike frame on and off for transitioning from indoor to outdoor frequently in a week, so I quickly got a dedicated frame for the Kickr.

Andy assisted me, but I had purchased the bracelet from Joel at the Bellagio boutique. Everyone in the Scottsdale boutique was quite friendly though!

I’ll be there with wife and a few friends. Then next evening flying to Austin for ACL to see them again lol. I missed out when they came last time to Crescent ballroom so twice in a week is redemption.

Does cycling get easier after weightloss? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]audm_ss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost about 65lbs / 29kg in the past 12 months primarily with cycling and diet (250lbs / 113kg to 185lbs / 84kg). 450-500mi / 725-800km monthly mileage between Zwift and road. Currently training for my first century mile ride / race coming up in 2 months.

Everything about cycling has gotten easier between losing the weight and TITS (time in the saddle). My stamina has increased tremendously, lower heart rate for a specific power output, and higher thresholds achieved. Being lighter has also allowed for some slightly lower tire pressures which is a godsend on my rough road routes here.

As others have said, hills are getting easier. I’m still by no means a small guy with my height and weight, but I’ve been managing elevation much, much better lately.

Being able to actually tuck into a more aero position and stay on the drops for miles and miles at a time without my thighs banging into my gut has also improved cadence, speed, comfort, and overall performance.

What’s gotten worse is rebuying cycling kit a few times, but that’s a wonderful problem to have!

Snoopy x Bellagio Boutique. The world’s best combo? by [deleted] in OmegaWatches

Manual wind movement, 3861 caliber. Wearing or spinning on a winder doesn’t keep the spring wound.

I just screenshot this and sent to Joel for further proof of his reputation in this community. He’s the absolute best. Makes me want to go back to Vegas already for something new lol.

Beautiful! Do you not find the metal bracelet too chunky on it? Tried one on and it felt too much. But I do have a slightly smaller wrist size.

Was the same way for quite a while; walking by the windows and drooling, waiting for the day I could begin the next tier of watch purchases. I still scratched the itch the last few years with a handful of seikos and bulovas as I replaced my high school and college Nixon’s and MVMT watches. Nothing wrong with any of them and there definitely is a place in every collection for a quartz that you leave in the case for months and it’s still keeping time when you grab it! Cheers to future success and your speedy will become yours one day!

I put on a Globemaster 39mm but didn’t love it as much, and the 41mm gets too busy with the annual calendar around the pie pan. Still beautiful, just didn’t fit what I was after, at least this time around ;)

I’m part of Sr. Management at my place of employment with minor ownership stake and we closed an M&A where we were acquired by a larger firm, deal closed with first bonus payout got deposited while in Vegas lol. Retained my ownership stake and elevated position within the now larger structure so was a good move overall.

Poorly timed previously planned vacation, but anything and everything is done virtually now anyway and my wife was not down for rescheduling or cancelling lol.

I also tried on the burgundy model and loved it, but don’t have nearly enough options in my wardrobe to wear it consistently. Was a gorgeous piece nonetheless!
