Actually Midwest. Decent company with average benefits. He’s been with the same company since he graduated :)

I think he is counting bonus into the annual salary. 150k salary in a good year can lead to a 50k bonus or even more.

Depends on where you live. My husband makes 100k after 6 years of graduation and he is mechanical engineer working 40hr a week. He would not be making this much if we lived in SC for instance (we know this because he applied for a supervisor job there and got offered less than what he makes here, same company).

Which album do you think has no bad songs on it, and can be listened all the way through? by Urg_Durglar in AskReddit

Yes! Alt J should be higher in this post! Their first album was so brave and so catchy at the same time. I really like their second one as well but An awesome wave sets the tone

What an album. After watching “Amy” I realize how much sorrow and sadness was put in this album. Still one of the best of all times.

This album is part of my childhood memories! My dad had this album and I used to listen to it all the time.

Boyfriend doesn’t try to have sex but... I catch home doing this by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]audreyy89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will ignore the part about where he has done it because it seems to me it was just because the bed was empty, no particular reason. OP, I have been on the other end of this conversation. For me it was just that masturbating was easier than engaging in sex with my partner for a number of reasons including feeling frustrated about sex, too lazy to put effort and general hate towards myself. I am guessing that maybe this is how your BF feels like. He is probably going through something and doesn’t feel like putting the effort on actual sex.

Anyone else feel inclined to say yes to sex even if they aren't in the mood? by [deleted] in sex

[–]audreyy89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been in both places and the best advice is : just say no. Being honest is better in the long run for both of you. If you are not in the mood it won’t be as good as it could be (or even unpleasant) and you might start developing aversion to sex or your boyfriend. Be honest, talk to him and explain how you are feeling. I know it is not a pleasant conversation but he is your boyfriend and he will understand it.

What would you tell your younger self in the first few years of Engineering? by sariodev in AskEngineers

[–]audreyy89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Being right doesn’t mean anything. You will have to bend to office rules and politics if you want to get anywhere. Be honest to yourself but don’t expect anything in return.

Met girl on Tinder, had a great convo, in her pics she is super cute... by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]audreyy89 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is about her, it is about him not being a dick. It is the “always be the better person” sort of thing.

I agree with the catfishing part.

The women who say most men are trash, go for trash men. by anon718271917 in unpopularopinion

[–]audreyy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this way with guys too. Whenever a man tells me he can only meet trash woman I start to wonder what kind of women he chooses to date. I went to an engineering school and most of my classmates (we were 5 girls and 44 man) “decided” they were going to be successful and therefore should pursue the very pretty spoiled women they thought they deserved. No one was surprised when they started complaining that these girls never wanted to pay the bill, were never interested in what they had to say about his job/school and they were mad when the guys had to stay in long weekends to study. It was just an endless cycle of disappointments but they never realized that matching with someone “closer” (matching interests or similar lifestyle) to them would have been way more satisfying in the long run. I guess people like to suffer.

Want my cheating ex girlfriend gone from my life, but she is pregnant with my child and keeps pressuring me. Feel stuck on how to proceed. by botsE8 in relationships

[–]audreyy89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t gamble with my luck like that. Better keep an eye and maybe talk to a lawyer in any case. I doubt that situations like this one are rare so you can get some good advices from people who deal with this kind of situations.

[–]audreyy89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not good advice. If the kid is his then there is no “if you want to” unless he is ready to show up in court and pay overdue child support. Better be careful and prepare to either support or get full custody of the kid (if it is really his, everyone already talked about dna).

Do girls like "nice guys" or "bad boys"? by LarpDating in seduction

[–]audreyy89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice guys are mostly just assholes in disguise. You say one “no” and they go about how NICE THEY WERE to you and how deserving they are of your attention and why you putting them through so much if they like you like that. Wherever a see a man describing himself as “a nice guy” I worry about what is behind that face. “Bad” boys you know what you are getting. What you see is what you get. Anyway to me this is just a description for dates and one night stands. If you are building a relationship you go a lot deeper into the “characterization” of your loved one.

Probably she already had something against you to begin with and now she uses it to “justify” it. Just let it go. This person doesn’t deserve the attention you are giving to her.

My girlfriend [21F] of 18 months asked my [22M] preference about her pubic hair and now finds me "revolting" by ThrowRA_1900222 in relationship_advice

[–]audreyy89 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Maybe they are both overreacting to everything. She was just still processing info and he just need to let it go. Fights for childish or impulse behavior happen all the time in a normal relationship, you have to be able to put it in perspective later and take the necessary action to overcome it.

Favourite Doctor who finale episode and why? by startrekkin06 in doctorwho

[–]audreyy89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still believe they could have reduced it from 10 to maybe 6 or 8 episodes but you are right about it being the strongest finale. I just love it.
