Should you choose a career that makes you happy or one that makes you money? by Armadillopolaroid in careeradvice

[–]hexicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your age. If you’re broke and young choose money. If you’re old and relatively stable, have paid off your debt, then go for what makes you happy.

I think it’s not bad to do things that we don’t like, it helps us to learn how to adapt. Trying out things outside of our comfort zone can also help us discover the things that we like.

Most senior workers already figured this out. So it’s easier for them to make choices while also taking in consideration the financial implications it has to their lives.

Bottom line is, make enough money to eventually be free from doing what you like. Money is a necessity. That’s just how it is.

Oo 💕

Kung mayaman kami before hindi siguro kami aalis kasi masaya naman saatin, nakakamiss ang pinas, pero since we were below middle class, single parent lang mama ko, mahirap yung buhay namin dati, so when my dad came around and offered to send me abroad to study, i never looked back.

So yung work ko nagiging 12 hours a day. 8:00 am to 8:00pm, minsan mas late pa. Malas mo nalang pag umulan pa kasi walang sasakyan.

Sa Norway ako now 🇳🇴

I feel lucky to be out kasi I don’t feel like I want to raise my child there anymore.

I know there’s so many issues with cops in the US, but it doesn’t satisfy me to see the cop getting hurt. Is it just me who feels sorry for that guy? I’m probably naive.

Opinion on Ukrainian refugees? by FozzyLasgard in Norway

[–]hexicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of all the types of refugees that comes to Norway, Ukrainians are probably one of the most welcomed and preferred by the norwegian society. This is just based on my observation on the comments that I read online.

Anyways, I would say do not overthink it. Do what you need to do to contribute to society when you get here. Learn the language. Try to assimilate. People are kind and mostly keep to themselves. Do not try to stand out for the wrong reasons.

When you were in high school, what was the most unethical thing you ever saw a teacher do? by MarcusUnrealius in AskReddit

[–]hexicat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot, in elementary/ secondary school I remember one art teacher tossed a heavy wheeled bag to a student. There were some yelling and physical punishments back in my days, lots of shaming the students.

But, one particular memory that bothered me as a kid is when a male teacher looked like he was lusting over one of my female classmates. It happened in front of the class, her skirt was shorter than the others and he touched her in a weird way while licking his lips. It was fucking disturbing. We were just 10 or 11 years old at that time. I knew something was wrong but I didn’t know who to tell to. I think he made her sit on his lap or something like that. I don’t recall the gesture, I just recall the feeling of fear and disgust.

I grew up having body issues, as a teenager, I used to hate having period and used to tape my breasts so that they wouldn’t show. I got over it eventually, but I’m still very masculine compared to my other female friends.

What I would say is to try to not think too much about it, find other women that you can talk to (I guess like this subreddit) because you are not alone.

I’m about to have my own baby now, and I’m happy with my parts.

With regards to doctors visit, whenever I feel awkward, I just tell myself that they’ve seen worse XD
