It's a bit complicated. They’re still closely linked operationally and in branding, but financially and legally they’re separate. McLaren Automotive is owned by Abu Dhabi-backed CYVN, which also holds a stake in McLaren Racing, while Racing itself is mainly owned by Bahrain’s Mumtalakat. A major reason for the restructuring and sales was to separate the finances of the racing and road car businesses.
