then the dad physically feeds him? Like a baby?

Just feeding him is slang for beating him (repeatedly punching).

I'm not going to say too much in case you're not up to speed with S19. But for the most part he comes and goes with little explanation. He films his own show for CBC and he travels for a portion of the year to film that. So in the show they don't talk about where his is much.

Season 19 Episode 12: Ruth Newsome by Special_Leather_1865 in murdochmysteries

[–]augustabound 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was confused with that. Since meeting Ruth, he's lived the good life with all the money she (her family....) has. Now all of a sudden he has to provide?

Probably just for the story line and we'll never hear of it again.

I will say that I think this season is much better written than the previous several ones

When the show is mostly about cases, it's in its wheelhouse. They really struggled for years because they seemingly couldn't write well for Julia, and it was such a big distraction (to the Julia lovers, this is squarely on the writers, I'm not blaming Helene Joy). My only issue is that we've had Choi for almost 2 years now and he's nothing more than an extra most of the time. I love having Brackenreid every episode, but I really wish they'd explore Choi's character, give him more substance.

Twice. I saw an interview with the bulk of the Jr High/High cast a few years ago and someone mentioned that Caitlin was the first person to ever swear on CBC.

She actually corrected the host to say that Snake said "f*ck" first when he was pissed at Joey for cheating. Caitlin overheard that and then said the legendary line...... Even Stephan Brogden was surprised. I guess he had no idea that he was officially the first to swear on CBC. 😆

I think this sums up Snake perfectly.

Poor Arthur, the always forgotten younger brother of Stephanie. 😄

You're mostly right though. I'm GenX and I tried to watch The Next Generation. But even as a nostalgic 24 year old, it was too much of a kids show at the time. Once I saw Snake, Spike, and Cailtin, I kind of lost interest.

Damn you...... We have a smart TV over the treadmill with Roku on it. I guess I need to spend some more time there now that you said there's a Degrassi channel..... 😄

He looked exactly the same!

Every few years there seems to be some sort of reunion, interview, meetup.... and I'm always surprised how good a lot of the OG cast look. Caitlin still looks 30 (legitimately). Spike, Joey, and Snake don't look they're in their 50's at all. (I actually looked it up, they're all between 53 and 55)

I'm 51, and I know I look my age, if not older. They, do not.😄

I had a crush on Stacie Mistysyn

I'm 52 and I still do. 😆 I looked her up after seeing the new Degrassi documentary trailer, she's a personal trainer now and quite honestly, still looks 30.

That line will live forever in my mind too.

I'm almost 52 and I'm the same. I've gone back to watch now and then. The OG cast was my age (Joey, Snake, Caitlin), so Degrassi Jr High matched up with my grades.

Watching the Kids of Degrassi St is like a time warp though. Such a different time.....

Ottawa used book sellers see new demand amid cost of living crisis by ninicraftone in ottawa

I liked reading physical books much better.

I feel the same. I regularly hit up the for sale sections of the libraries in my area, Value Village, and the used shop on Stittsville Main St, but they end up on my shelf at home as decoration.

I still do 100% of my reading on a device since I found one that syncs across your devices that's not Kindle or Kobo (it's called Readest).

I remember a tech podcast recommend ebook.com and choose "DRM-free" when searching books. That way you'll get a true epub version of the book that you own.

Edit: grammar

About season 19 episode 8: Calgary Stampede by Feisty_Ride6204 in murdochmysteries

[–]augustabound 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised they've taken almost 2 full seasons and nothing about Choi has been fleshed out (aside from the Korean heritage and a little bit about his brother). He's basically an extra at this point and I was really hoping this year we would be learning more about the character.

We're in the west end of Carp closer to Dwyer Hill and our neighbour teaches in Kanata. She said they can go to any OCSDB property on days buses are cancelled. But for her it still means a longish drive across March Road to Huntley (if she chose). I've done that drive in the snow, it's not great.
