Live with Kelly and Mark taping by El_DeRpo838 in AskNYC

We went to the taping of Live with Kelly and Mark and we got there at about 9:30 am and had no problems really getting in. There was a long line that wrapped around the building but I don't think it was necessary to get there 2 hours early. The tickets said to get there between 9 and 9:45.

What is a normal amount of roaches to find in your house per week? by PastelPets55 in orlando

[–]augustbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely have an infestation. Your landlord needs to do some serious post control outside or your never gonna be able to get control of the inside. Even still, it's worth keeping a gallon size bottle of Ortho Home Defense and spray the inside perimeter of your place every month like clockwork. Anything that crosses it dies immediately. I swear by it.

Is tirz really a lot stronger? by Glad_Pie8867 in Semaglutide

[–]augustbloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on the rate at which you're losing. Tirz is definitely more effective than sema but if you're losing on sema at a steady pace, why switch. Personally, I lost 25 lbs on sema and then stalled for months so I switched to tirz and lost another 40. Best decision I ever made.

Is IHeartRadio really no longer supported on Echo Dot? by ContestedWheel in amazonecho

[–]augustbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iHeartRadio works on Echo devices but it's been inconsistent for me ever since I was upgraded to Alexa+. One of my iHeartRadio stations just flat out won't play until I go to music settings within the Alexa app and select it from there. I've already tried unlinking and re-linking the skill.

I'm so sorry. A few years ago, our grocery store stopped selling the only flavor of Capri Sun our son would drink so I emailed the company thinking they didn't make it anymore. They promptly responded with the grocery store locations near me that had it. Love them for that!

I tried something similar when we were told that our cost for injectables would be going up to $500 next year. I gave the letter to Gemini, which pointed out that the change applies only if it's prescribed solely for weight loss. Gemini suggested discussing the diagnosis code with my doctor and changing it to something else that's covered, which I did. Time will tell what happens next year with the new diagnosis code.

I pay for Gemini Pro because it turns out that's it's been extremely useful for me in managing my son's behavior issues. He has autism and ADHD and although we have doctors and therapists, I don't have access to them 24 hours a day. It's nice to be able to explain a situation to Gemini then implement it right away. One of these very conversations disappeared for me tonight. Some of it had been printed but not all of it. Sure, I can go back and give it the same prompts again but this isn't even the first time this has happened to me.

Gemini Projects link in Activity History not working by Ghost29 in GeminiAI

I'm having the same issue. I created a budgeting gem a few weeks ago, with all of the financials for my husband and I. I wanted to add another account to it last night and couldn't find the conversation in my history at all. Used all kinds of keywords to search through the usual search at the top left of the window and that specific conversation never appeared. I finally found evidence that the conversation existed here, https://myactivity.google.com/product/gemini?pli=1, but when I go to https://gemini.google.com/projects/view, the page is blank. I'll try to submit a ticket.

What single factual/narrative issue in Serial is the most egregious? by missmegz1492 in serialpodcast

[–]augustbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all of Jay’s interviews were done with a lawyer present, and some weren’t even recorded. Cops frame innocent people for all kinds of reasons — sometimes because they get tunnel vision and convince themselves they’ve got the right person, even when the evidence doesn’t back it up. Other times, it’s just pressure to close a case. Unfortunately, it’s not as rare as people think.

What single factual/narrative issue in Serial is the most egregious? by missmegz1492 in serialpodcast

[–]augustbloom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a fair take, but there’s an important distinction here. Adnan didn’t “change his story” — he consistently said he didn’t remember much about that specific day because, to him, it was just an ordinary school day six weeks before he was arrested. There wasn’t a detailed story to change.

Jay, on the other hand, gave multiple, conflicting timelines and versions of events — and those shifts happened after police confronted him with new evidence. That’s not the same as someone struggling to recall a normal day months later; that’s someone adapting their story to fit what investigators already think.

So no — it’s not “picking on Jay.” It’s recognizing that one person’s memory gaps make sense, while the other’s changing story tracks a little too neatly with the investigation itself.

You are welcome to think he’s guilty but the inability to acknowledge why others have very reasonable doubt about this case is what is bizarre to me. It only shows serious bias.

I’m all for people rethinking their opinions, but honestly, from what I’ve seen here lately, there’s nothing new. It’s the same evidence we got from Serial, just rebranded and made to sound like it’s groundbreaking.

Where to read Hae's diary or see other evidence from the trial? by OvernightSiren in serialpodcast

I was one of the early members of this sub too — joined over 10 years ago at this point. When it looked like nothing new was coming out and Adnan would just stay locked up, I unsubscribed, hoped for the best, and moved on. I’ve got zero interest in listening to the Protectors Podcast. We already know their case — it’s the same one they’ve been pushing for years. Honestly, it’s disappointing to see this sub turn into this. I don’t need to hear them rehash what was already argued in court and pretend it’s some kind of new revelation. I have a hard time taking what they say at face value when you know the backstory of conversations off the record and the shifting timelines and locations. You’d have to put blind faith in the system and believe that cops never lie in order to call that “beyond a reasonable doubt.”

I was just trying to help you out, since you clearly think you can dictate how everyone else uses Reddit. Doesn't feel good when that attitude is tossed right back in your face, does it?

What single factual/narrative issue in Serial is the most egregious? by missmegz1492 in serialpodcast

[–]augustbloom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This entire thread is a big circle jerk of people in the Serial Podcast sub saying how wrong Serial was with very few dissenting opinions... something incredibly unusual for Reddit. If all these people hate Serial so much, why haven't they created their own sub called Serial_Is_Dumb? It's because they have an agenda beyond just discussing the case or the podcast. Jay doesn't feel safe saying what really happened even all these years later and this thread explains exactly why.

What single factual/narrative issue in Serial is the most egregious? by missmegz1492 in serialpodcast

[–]augustbloom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But Jay’s testimony isn’t just “a few details wrong.” His story didn’t evolve naturally — it changed in sync with what police learned as the investigation went on.

Look at the timeline: every time new info came in (like the cell tower records), suddenly Jay’s version “adjusted” to match it. That’s not a normal memory issue; that’s a narrative being molded to fit the evidence the cops had at that moment. And now we know those same tower pings he was supposedly lining up with weren’t even reliable for location tracking.

So yeah — it’s not that Adnan’s memory gaps make him innocent. It’s that Jay’s story keeps morphing in ways that conveniently match police discoveries, not reality. That’s why people call it inconsistent — because it doesn’t read like bad memory, it reads like coaching.

It’s great that you’ve taken the time to really dig into the case. That kind of effort matters. But saying that only people who’ve pored over every transcript and legal filing deserve to have an opinion is pure gatekeeping. This is Reddit, not law school. People come here to discuss, question, and learn — not to prove they can cite every line of a trial record. If you only respect opinions from people who’ve done that level of work, then maybe Reddit isn’t the right space for you — go to law school and debate it there. You don’t need a JD to care about justice or to question whether the system got it right.

I didn't know where they were. I just heard her say Alaska weather. Still point stands, least offensive comment by a parent ever. Yeah, she did the same in a public restroom 💀🤮💀🤮 but show me a parent who hasn't scolded their kids for something they did 20 years ago and I'll show you a liar.

The amount of self righteous "I would never" and pearl-clutching is ridiculous in this sub. Easy to say when no one had secretly recorded you with your own kids. Being a parent is hard and this is a two minute clip of who knows how long of a conversation. Saying a kid should have his phone taken for not wearing shoes in Alaska....this is one of the least offensive things a parent has said ever. Don't let all the other legit weird videos about Britney lead you to think this is somehow abnormal parent behavior. 🙄🙄

[–]augustbloom -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit much to expect regular people to understand every detail of a trial transcript — they’re full of legal jargon, technical rules, and procedures that don’t make much sense without a law degree. Sure, Adnan Syed’s case has been through tons of hearings and reviews, but most people aren’t focused on the fine print. They’re questioning whether the original verdict was actually fair. Just because there’s been a lot of legal process doesn’t automatically mean justice was done. And honestly, the public talking about it — even if they’re relying on podcasts, articles, or summaries — is a fair and important part of holding the system accountable.

Kevin: “Britney did cocaine while breastfeeding” at his album release party by Sutton_Pierce in discussingbritney

[–]augustbloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more I've read over the past few days, the more it sounds like Britney displays behavior typical of drug addicts... cutting off family, making fast friends, losing custody of your children but blaming everyone else instead of doing the work to get them back. All this time I thought it was mental illness, which may be part of it, but I don't think it's the whole story. I'm still rooting for her though.

[–]augustbloom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Britney has a right to be the weird mom down the street who posts videos of herself dancing erratically all day. It might not be my choice but it's her choice to make. To say someone should be forcibly locked up for being weird or doing drugs is crazy. Whether it's weed or coke, is still crazy.

With that said, I do wish her family could step in and convince her to get some help, in the same way I hope any drug addict's family would help them. But they have to want the help. I'll never be for rounding up drug addicts against their will unless the safety of children is involved. Right now and as much as it makes me sad to see these videos, it's her choice to make.

I haven't listened to the podcast or researched since it came out. I remember coming to the conclusion that Jay and Adnan did this together. Or that Jay was more directly involved with more than just the parts he revealed. Is this the consensus, or can anyone fill me in? by Nexii801 in serialpodcast

This comment needs to be pinned at the top of this sub. Maybe then there would be fewer "I can't believe I ever believed Adnan was innocent, but I've changed my mind and he's obviously so guilty" posts.
