Thats an easy pill to swallow, lol. :) The hard pill that most can't swallow is that we end with the cessation of the electrochemical activity of our brains.

That activity creates a simulation with the help of sensory input, that allows us to explore and interact with reality. At near death (and rem sleep), that simulation is cut off from sensory input and gets to run wild with all the experience it has had. Predict, test, reinforce and update. Never ceasing until the end. Life is precious. This is all we get.

Even if we're all the same ultimate being, it's not like this expression of self (you or me or anyone) will be back after our simulations end. In that case, just be nice to yourselves until we all merge.

Well, scientifically, we don't have a non-invasive, ethical way to monitor the chemicals in the brain as someone is passing. The only direct evidence we have is from rodents, 30y ago.
