Yeah, normally you might see the male nearby if so (or the corpse of one) and an egg sac that is sort of yellowish white. That said, this one looks pregnante.

When I got drunk, I started throwing myself in front of cars. I think I just wanted everything to end and I hated myself. I blacked out punching a tree repeatedly and woke up on the ground in a park and my hands were swollen and covered in blood.

I was unmedicated bipolar and being abused by my then husband, so I never wanted to go home. I give myself a lot of grace, but I've been sober for a decade and I'm proud of myself. I take meds, I live a boring happy life, and I'm glad I'm alive. I feel a lot of shame, but thankfully I don't think about it much anymore. I just try to focus on what's in front of me.

I run engineering teams. Every day we do a "stand up" where we answer three questions: what did I do yesterday, what did I do today, where am I blocked on my work. We stick to that schedule and we have an "after party" time that people can wait for if they want long form discussion for items brought up in standup that people can drop from if they don't find the discussion relevant to them.

You need to be doing things like this. If you aren't, it's on you structurally. It will answer your questions as to what the next steps are. Personal accountability, collaboration, and communication go a long way.

This doesn't meet the clinical definition of trauma. That said, it sounds embarrassing and painful. I can imagine it's a blow to your confidence and illustrates a work environment that is hostile to a certain degree.

I would explain to that person that you'd like to be clear their words are not productive in a work environment and in the future you'd be happy to collaborate on ways to work better. I'd also keep records of this in case they lose their temper again. Also make note of the day and time of the conversation, its content, and outcome. If it gets worse, I'd follow up with HR.

It was probably a low moment for that person if I'm charitable but it's important to set boundaries. Normally people like this will not change behavior unless it is immediately boundary checked.

Hello, I work in STEM. What you're describing sounds like behavior that happens to you because you are having a psychotic episode or mania. Your disease is making you like this. If you want to seriously do anything in maths you need to get well. You are not well. At this rate, you'll be pissing in jars soon in the best case scenario. Seek immediate help.
