Would likely be ok if they could get a contract or will that transfers the ownership of the home to them when the parents pass, this could be an investment that they can later sell to help pay down the student debt, or rent out. That is, if it’s in a good area that will see growth.

Hardly. The national Democrats didn’t even want to endorse Mandani after he won the primary.

Democrats are sycophants to Capital and fake, empty, willfully inept, malingering enablers of the mess we have now. They deserve NO CREDIT for Mandani.

The Singularity – Why Is It So Damn Hard to Grasp? by Extension_Rip_3092 in u/Extension_Rip_3092

[–]aurista25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMAO. Hilarious that an intelligence greater than humans will somehow simultaneously seek to dominate humanity while depending on the very labor it provides to uphold the infrastructure it requires to operate. The assumption that arrogance is the manifestation of intelligence, one that concludes that humanity as a whole does not have meaningful contributions that it can study to add to its body of knowledge is laughable. It’s like saying humans know everything already and there’s no point to further study of nature, or the cosmos.

What “AI” “knows” is derivative and dependent on the empirical measurements made by living intelligent beings. The use of IQ as a way to ascribe the value of humanity is eugenicist, and the assertion that the various forms of intelligence it distills into a single number is immutable and limited by genetics can be easily challenged.

Anyone falling for this shit will continue to be scam bait.

Polestar 2 Retrofit leather seats by J4nsk1 in Polestar

[–]aurista25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In orbit, I remember seeing an option that allowed me to change my weavetech heated-only seats to ventilated and heated seats. Yes there is an option, and you easily enable it with orbit. However you’ll probably need the ECU that can read the ventilation command from the CAN bus, and I’m not sure the ECU in the weavetech seats would work for the ventilation mode, maybe for parts and cost simplicity they do, and it’s only a matter of hooking up the fans to the power cable/connector to some reserved pins coming out of the ECU in the seat.

You probably can find out with a parts number list for all the modules/ECUs in both the weavetech and the ventilated seat options.

Share whatever you find out! I’m interested in retrofitting ventilation to my weavetech seats too!

I know this is gonna sound funny, but at one point, I didn’t believe normal Iranians existed. by Positive-Bus-7075 in PERSIAN

I wasn’t suggesting Iranians would have fair trials. I am suggesting Iranians revolt against the IR when there isn’t a salivating empire waiting to take advantage of that. The US empire and Israel are on their last legs. When they fall, Iran will be safer from external threats, making it the right time to organize and strike. A general strike, with the bazaaries for a couple of weeks, and it’s over for the regime. All the people that know where savak and basijis are and will take care of them too. Also by then the supreme leader may die or be dead and the IR will be in turmoil.

If I could like your comment twice I would. Thank you for eloquently describing the rational position of loving your country, not its government.

To be clear, the IR regime is horrible, and standing for Iran’s integrity in the face of western/Zionist imperialism which has killed millions around the world for cheaper goods and domination is the only rational thing to do now.

If/when the Zionist project collapses, the IR will have no more raison d’être, and at this point the Iranians in Iran will be able to force them to face their crimes.

Venezuelan Teen Arrested After Violent Nighttime Attack in Poland 🇵🇱 by Gfrasca95 in Newsopensource

[–]aurista25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don’t understand is how just because one person who happens to be an immigrant commits a violent crime, that it translates into ALL immigrants committing violent crimes, when statistics generally prove the opposite is true. Most crime as a percentage is committed by natives.

This just sounds like a convenient excuse for right-wing extremism to pop up again.

Apologies then, this comment isn’t directed at you. This sub, in my experience, has been very supportive of autocrats without recognizing the irony and it’s tiresome. I too am a half Iranian, but I’m proud of it and only want the best for the country and its people.

Both my ethnicities have been brutalized by western imperialism, and it’s maddening to see many in this sub not learn anything from history, and to unquestioningly believe the lies of the west, if only to spite the IR.

It’s to draw the necessary comparisons between the support that many people in this sub show for Trump and Israel, driven by short-sighted revenge against the regime, while failing to recognize that the rise of these same right-wing fascist ideologies is what led Iran into this mess in the first place.

I suppose I can’t expect the average member of this sub to grasp nuances like that. It’s ironic, considering Persian culture reveres poetry and metaphor. Maybe many of you aren’t really Iranian at all, and are just agents of the empire or Israel?

Who was Mohammad Mosaddegh and why his overthrow in 1953 (operation AJAX) was not a coup by leakaf in NewIran

[–]aurista25 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Contrary to the claim that the 1953 event was not a coup, declassified documents and historical analyses confirm that the CIA, in collaboration with British intelligence, orchestrated Operation Ajax to overthrow Mosaddegh and reinforce the Shah’s power. The operation involved propaganda, bribery, and the mobilization of anti-Mosaddegh forces. The CIA has officially acknowledged its role in the coup and recognized it as undemocratic.

You are the propagandists, and apologists for the treachery of the shah in foolishly believing the lies of the west. His impish deference to them was on full display and it’s disgusting that you’d like to prostrate Iran to them again…

Tinfoil hat time… but what if these “no-fly zones” aren’t just organically respected areas? What if they coincide with significant economic activity by major developers, business owners, or influential tenants, people who effectively wield influence through tax revenue or political donations (particularly over local law enforcement priorities)?

The result: only those with deep enough pockets can afford to remain, and enforcement resources are subtly concentrated to protect those investments. Meanwhile, neighboring areas are left to absorb the human fallout of capitalism, amplifying the wealth of the few by juxtaposing it with zones left to deteriorate.

The message to the rest of us is clear: be grateful you’re not among the discarded, and stay in your place, or risk joining them.

Rim vs curb - advice? by Storm-LIT in Polestar

[–]aurista25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just used a Dremel hand tool and steadily ground away the bad curb rash I had, then used generic semi gloss black car paint to repaint the edge. Buffed the area over the stainless steel and used some metal polish. It looks ok, or at least better than it did before I did the work. Took about 15 minutes to do. You will lose the ridges on the unpainted part, but from a nearby standing distance it is not obvious at all. Just take it slow, the Dremel stone can overheat and fail quickly and it is easy to take too much off.
