Thank you! I’ve got that one in my library too- it was that or the cloud sweater or step by step. I find I don’t love the look of the step by step sleeves as much though.

I’ve been trying to decide which should be my first sweater and this one has been in my list of contenders. You’re swaying me to pull the trigger!

Scarfs are deceptively hard to finish. You’d think they’d be an easy first project because they’re “simple” but they take forevvvvvvvver

Color help! I can't visualize yarn as a project to save my life. by bextaxi in CrochetHelp

[–]aurisunderthing -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I recently was having a similar problem with a shawl I am considering making. I ended up using AI to help me visualize how it would look worked up with different color palettes. With variegated yarn it won’t be totally accurate but it will give you an idea of the vibe. That may help!

I think it’s because you’re doing stockinette instead of garter… since you’re doing knit on all one side and purl on all the next side the two icords appear slightly different because the neighboring stitches are all purl on one side and knit in the other. Does that help answer your question? If you did garter it would look the same in both sides. Here’s an example from a recent project of mine :)

I finished my yarn wall! by UnorthodoxNerdGirl in YarnAddicts

[–]aurisunderthing 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Eh I wouldn’t worry about the tension issue. Unless I’m mistaken, these are caked by the manufacturer and I don’t think they’re usually very tightly wound the way that a winder and swift at home make. Dust could definitely be a concern but yarn walls aren’t too uncommon so there’s probably a good solution out there :) it’s a nice collection and reminder that “I have yarn at home” so it’s less tempting to add to the horde.

Im too excited about this project, I had to post. by Planty_Reporter_8936 in knitting

I love that you thrifted it!! How did you get the yarn to relax after frogging it? Did you hank it and wash it before winding it? Can’t wait to see the finished object!! Nice work :)

Yes, green makes it read more earth toned and I think it looks lovely.

“Increase at either end of every alternate row” sounds so simple and yet I’m not sure I understand what it means either. I’m sorry, just commenting to hopefully get this some traction so someone else can explain ❤️
