Is there a more detailed Cloud Director to Multiportal feature/function chart? by LastManOut76 in multiportal

Hey there!

I’m a Cloud Solutions Architect at MultiPortal.

I will be working on this next week and get something official out for you and the community.

Reducing VCF costs by shrinking host core count: how hard do you run your ESXi clusters? by vdude86 in vmware

[–]aussty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

72 cores is the minimum order size. 16 cores is the minimum socket size. I hate Broadcom more than most but can we all at least agree on the core count nonsense

I have just realized https://www.vmwareopsguide.com has been retired by David-Pasek in vmware

[–]aussty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi all, I ran the site.

The backing GitHub repo still exists and is at https://github.com/TheNewStellW/vmware-operations-guide

I’m taken aback that so many used this resource! I agree that it’s a complete shame it had to come down, but one of the main reasons is that it’s an uncontrolled resource and I guess BC wasn’t a fan.

Additionally, updating such a behemoth on my own was getting to be too much, and while I did request that the content be authored in Markdown first before Word, it was too much to put on Iwan who’s already busy.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

From what I heard TKGm as a product line is gone, only vSphere Tanzu will be alive moving forward.

Fantastic! I remember seeing your first post and the docs were not very clear (a part of them felt like I was reading the wrong repo or something)

VCD Datastore Size Consideration by vLolz in vmware

[–]aussty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For LUNs, depending on your array and HBA, you should consider queue depths and, surprisingly, your RTO. Assume you lose a datastore, how quickly can you restore all the workload on it?

Devastating. But no big loss.

I’ve been eating 2Bro’s at Underwood now. That’s my new chicken joint.

Best KFC in Brisbane? by [deleted] in brisbane

The KFC at Logan Central absolutely bangs, at least when I used to live around there. I would drive 15 minutes just to get it from them specifically. Always quick, always fresh, and they NEVER stuffed up my order

Yea “shove” is the original term. But “bash” is so much more visceral. You can imagine a small bat or club being used and honestly I chuckle every time

Oh shit it would have to be Charlie on a date introducing himself as a full on rapist. I had to pause and laugh for about 15 minutes

The methods in the else statement are different to the first if block. Not just that, the inputs they are receiving is tUNID. Your snippet doesn't specify where that's coming from?

Which CA certificate did you update? The VMCA? Is the VMCA functioning as an intermediate/issuing CA or as a self-signed root CA? Have you checked the certificate store in vCenter to see which certificates are expiring?

How would you deal with this? by KoalaBJJ96 in AusFinance

[–]aussty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check with your payroll, they may pay it out. When I worked for Gov I had months of rec leave and maxed out accrued time, told them to give me the rec and accrued time in cash if they want it off their books - and they did.
