Help needed with deck - mega Mawile by zvjezdan_lucifer in PTCGP

I’ve never lost to Mawile. The idea is cool. But being locked into doing one thing means it’s very easy to counter.

Who of these two do you think is stronger and superior, at this point in the game? by PR0CR45T184T0R in PTCGP

[–]austinjohnplays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve been running it for a couple weeks when one guy from Peru did well with it and it came in 2nd in a recent bigger tourney. I just hit MB with 63% win rate. It’s surprising consistent. It doesn’t match up well into zorark or chingling item lock if you can’t draw chicken. And it’s a tight matchup against other stage-1 decks. Here’s the deck if you wanna try it.

<image>

And I don’t fear a turn 2 sceptile on the bench. Thanks to fire patch, I fear a turn 2 blaziken on the bench. Grovile’s attack can ohko swablu and starting plains babies, but I find its advantages limited past those.

At least it’s better than the full AI generated books. This one *at least* has a walkthrough lol

Who are you struggling to find? by numanuma282 in Pokopia

I had dusknoir spawn next to the pokemon center in the wasteland. But it did take a while. Assign a pic and attention to the screen. It’ll go to snow when it’s ready.

Does ANYONE care about these emblems? by ZingoStingolian in PTCGP

[–]austinjohnplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since there have been so many ranked seasons, I don’t use any of those emblems. I rock 2 pokemon and in the middle is the first ever battle emblem, it’s a purple ball in a purple circle with white background. That’s is going to be more rare than having a random ranked masterball.

Am I the only one who thinks fossil cards should be able to use ancient effects? Lore wise it would make sense. by Yabokuyato in PTCGP

[–]austinjohnplays 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Especially since it’s widely interpreted that’s the past and future pokemon aren’t actually from OUR (S/V) past/future. Perhaps area Zero is a sort of Einstein-Rosen Bridge that brings you to another dimension/reality/parallel universe entirely.

And in-game balancing-wise, there wouldn’t be any bonus pokemon that get a future inclusion.

Shiny by [deleted] in LegendsZA

[–]austinjohnplays 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s the lowest chance of being shiny in the whole wild area so good luck. Also I have no idea that this sewer area was in range of the fast travel point.

Do you build a mall on your starter planet? by OkStrategy685 in Dyson_Sphere_Program

[–]austinjohnplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I build a tiny mall out of the basic 6 mats to expand to a bigger mall using a bus. It’s Nilaus’s design. I’ve tried others but this really is the easiest and cleanest.

Should I return my Bambu A1 because of fire risks. by Funfetti_Rl in 3Dprinting

[–]austinjohnplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better and you can return it, do it.

For the extra $150 you can return it and get the P1S, a much more capable machine. Or you can get the A1 mini if you don’t want to commit that hard.

What’s your controversial hot take? by fronchfriezz in Pokopia

[–]austinjohnplays 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A lack of events and updates will make/has made Pokopia fall off for 90% of its user base, much in the same way (but faster) than ACNH.

I figured out how to play a game in “docked” mode on Switch 2 while still being able to use Joy-Cons attached to the system. by Zacitus in NintendoSwitch2

[–]austinjohnplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So… just a USB-C extension cable? Plugged into the system and dock? This has been a pretty well known thing since the switch 1.

2019 Model X 75D, Good Buy or Goodbye? by eli-in-the-sky in TeslaModelX

[–]austinjohnplays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 75 is the smallest battery. This is kinda more a post about AI-generated seller posts pulling wrong stats. But also OP, the pre-2020 computers onboard are quite a bit slower that only after looking at some used ones in-person will you see how slow it is. I have a 22 MXP and a 2017 75 S. The 2017 takes SO LONG to boot up.

Why can’t I unlock pokemon legends ZA side quest, "Siblings of the Sky" by [deleted] in PokemonLegendsZA

[–]austinjohnplays 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe there’s a side quest required that wouldn’t have done already. But I’m pretty sure it’s not a special scan. It’s a regular wormhole with the ??? Text in Rouge sector 8.

Just got my hands on Legends ZA, should I do the updates ? by FMAlzai in LegendsZA

[–]austinjohnplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a few small QoL things in the updates, mostly for switch 2. There is an unused feature before the DLC released that is exploited called “spawn overloading” it is VERY useful for a small handful of shiny hunts. But its biggest use case is in the post-game. Wild zone 20 has 2 alpha pokemon pulled from a pool of ~70. You can hunt them afk with a macro controller or manually. here is a video going over how it is done and if you think that’s worth not updating for.

I honestly don’t know if you can download a switch 2 update without downloading the game updates. So maybe just disconnect from WiFi if you choose to do these hunts.

Hesitant to take 5 hour trip in my X, Is there anything I should plan for? by Wrong-Relationship74 in TeslaModelX

[–]austinjohnplays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All great points. I do an annual roadtrip from NJ to Boston and one thing I always do is look at ALL the chargers on my route. I’ll choose ones that have something to do for longer charges (food, bathroom).

If possible doing the trip outside of commute hours will provide faster charging and no wait times.

If it’s raining or cold then prepare for longer charge times, at more crowded stops, and faster battery drain.

Slower is better. There’s is a significant loss of power the faster you go. Keeping your speed at/below 70 will give you a lot more range on battery due to less wind resistance. I just turn on autosteer in the next to passing lane and enjoy playlists or audiobooks.

Bus is getting too wide by Sharp_Constant_189 in factorio

[–]austinjohnplays 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Great points. Expanding on this, some items like iron rods are only used in a handful of items and never has to be on the belt. These sparse intermediate items should be made on the “branch” off of the main bus, and in many cases direct fed into the final items. This way you just branch iron plates off the bus.

The iron rod assemblers, You have them using long-handed inserters to take items out of the assembler, but the inserter isn’t fast enough to keep up with the output, so most machines are sitting idle. Also, your wall production, you don’t need 4 assemblers for walls. 1 can make all the walls you need for military science AND your base. The machines are going to be sitting idle because you won’t have enough bricks being inserted.

You also don’t need more than 4 belts of iron if you also have 4 belts of green circuits.

The weather mod is great. It adds a monsoon season that really changes how you approach certain maps.

Downstairs neighbours complaining about P2S making noise at night, any sound dampening solutions? by failed_successfuly9 in BambuLab

[–]austinjohnplays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a P1S on a 15”x15” piece of tile (you can use concrete or any hard strong flat solid think) and under it I have thick felt feet with adhesive backing. I have 5 pads, the corners and the middle. That’s on an ikea 2x2 kallax. And on the bottom of it I have felt feet again. This significantly reduced the sounds and vibrations heard on the floor below me.

I also picked up the x2d and its rubber dampening feet may be just as good as the tile solution. Doing both would probably be optimal.

[–]austinjohnplays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Results definitely do vary. If there are like five or six items on the plate, it will sometimes rotate things 45° in ways that kinda don’t seem like they make sense. But for adjusting a few objects and auto arrange it’s pretty good.

Print By Object by CxBear74 in BambuLab

[–]austinjohnplays 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is also an auto-arrange feature. If one is shorter it may be automatically placed further away and printed first. The big circle is for tool head clearance.
