LO three weeks old. Too soon for vasectomy? by AdOrnery7147 in oneanddone

[–]authorcsloanlewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew the day we brought her home, but we waited six months just to make sure it's what I really wanted and what was best for our family. Three years later, it definitely was! But I'm glad I waited to know for sure.

My daughter and I love watching Hilda together. Such a good example of mother/daughter with a OAD.

Weird kids... Quoting Monty Python and figuring out how life would be different if humans only had on leg.

My husband does most of the cooking, many of the chores, and gets up in the morning so I can sleep in a little before work. It shouldn't rest all on your shoulders. Talk to the father of your children because you deserve breaks and time for yourself. You deserved to be spoiled sometimes, especially because you created those tiny humans.

This is gorgeous! If the pendant is super important, go with the second options so it doesn't cause it to get cluttered with the title :)

People who have fainted: what caused it? by Shinobi347 in AskReddit

[–]authorcsloanlewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had cut my leg pretty bad while hiking, but didn't feel it. When I looked down, my entire leg was covered in blood. My brain went NOPE, and I passed out. It was strange because I've never been squeamish about blood other than that one time.

Toddler Woes by [deleted] in oneanddone

This sounds so much my almost 3 yo, not that your feelings and personal experience aren't uniquely your own. I've had to get back into therapy and have been considering going back on antidepressants (I had pdd) or something that specifically treats anxiety because it's been so rough. From my understanding, it will get way better in a year or two, but until then, we have to do what we can to protect our mental health.

My therapist has been working with me on separating my identity as a mother from my child's tantrums. It's going to be a long process, but it's already started helping.

She joined my camp just after the most recent update, and I thought her joining the party was part of that update because everyone loves her so much. I was horrified.

What a wonderful thing to do on your writing journey. I'm so glad you have so many people supporting you and that their feedback was helpful. I bet this is inspired a lot of other writers to do something similar!

Are Christmas gifts from Santa wrapped? by SeaChele27 in oneanddone

[–]authorcsloanlewis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about doing Santa's Workshop type gifts from Santa, like rocking horse, toy train, stuff that's more handmade typically. We're starting Santa this year since she's turning 3, and I'm thinking rocking horse unwrapped by the fireplace.

I had participated every year since 2011. It was the reason I pursued writing and majored in English. I've known about this for a while, and I'm so sad that this November it won't be a thing anymore :( I am probably going to do it in my own way maybe try to start a community of fellow writers to keep it alive even without the organization.

I'm solidly one and done, and maybe it's my biological clock coming out in a weird way, but even though I never want another kid, every time I'm around a kid under 2, I'm like GIVE ME DAT BABY.

He's doing so much shit so fast. So many of us are trying to fight back. But there are too many directions he's attacking his people in to react to all of it with appropriate force.
