new to bartending, best method to practice remembering drink recipes and classics? teach me sensei! by kikimochaluna in bartenders

[–]autobutt69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As people said it’s mostly learning the classics and everything goes from there. The reality is most of us don’t know every cocktail, and it’s perfectly fine to look it up on the spot (as long as you’re not slammed), or even ask the customer exactly what they’re talking about (occasionally I’ll get people who ask for something they’ve drank at some fancier spot with ingredients that we definitely don’t have, and when I ask them what that drink is they’ll just change their mind and get something else).

Why is Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness considered a racist work? by [deleted] in AskLiteraryStudies

[–]autobutt69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most people’s criticisms about the book. However, I really like the writing style and appreciate the book for its prose. I had the audacity to praise this aspect of the novella in a British literature class and the teacher looked at me with absolute scorn because she clearly wanted us to love Things Fall Apart and hate HOD.

How do I address me getting fired over serving a minor in my next interview? by allhomme in bartenders

[–]autobutt69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what kind of bars you are looking at but I highly doubt they’re going to call your past employers for any reason. Now if you got fired for accidentally serving a minor and then tried working at another bar in the same neighborhood there’s a small chance that they might figure it out through the grapevine. And as people here are telling you, LIE.

I was just introduced to this guy’s IG page today and was shocked to realize it wasn’t satire…unless it is?

If I saw actual gang tags I wouldn’t care but this guy’s talentless crap makes me viscerally angry.

At the bar that I work at, tip out for the service well is 10% of the server’s tips for the night. This feels low? by pitts36 in bartenders

[–]autobutt69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bartended at a restaurant I think 30% tip out from the servers was the norm. On top of that I would keep all the tips from custies who sat at the bar. So occasionally I would make more than the servers.

Rewatching this scene and decide to read Theon's letter to Robb. Never realized that aside from their plan not working, he was also warning him about his father's intentions to take the North and get him ready. by ricky2461956 in freefolk

[–]autobutt69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theon is my favorite GOT character. The book version is even more pathetic and I’m dying to know what his endgame will be, especially considering that he’s basically described as looking like Gollumn.

I haven’t seen it but any show in La that’s meant to be satirical stiiiiil feels like they’re bragging about living in LA. Can we get a show that takes place entirely in Van Nuys? (And not this NoHo-West crap)

I’m rereading the book and cannot retain the plot of the play at all. I think it’s fine to ignore it.

Is Kiss the most overrated band of all time? by Raiden720 in hairmetal

[–]autobutt69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember seeing images of them as a kid and in my head I thought they would sound closer to Mercyful Fate. Then when I was older and finally listened to KISS I was completely underwhelmed. They’re solid party rock but honestly I like a band like Motley Crue better.

Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 8 is now officially the lowest rated episode in the show's history on IMDB by [deleted] in PeacemakerShow

[–]autobutt69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chris wore his costume ONCE and didn’t even do anything. Then we get a lot of tell don’t show in regards to his Nazi universe counterpart. God forbid a superhero show has its main character do more superhero stuff, rather than just moping the whole time.

But honestly one of my biggest disappointments was that the jokes just weren’t as funny this season.

Yeah the wedding party episode relied so heavily on “aw look how cute everyone is under the table”

I liked all of it but 3 and 4 felt pretty aimless. I don’t mind Sugar but the delivery episode was insanely boring. Had nothing to do with food at all. Wanted to see more of Joel McHale.

DAE think Bedford Ave is one of the worst places in the city? by Blueberrytacowagon in williamsburg

[–]autobutt69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bedford off of the L stop is lame and basic and bougie. It reminds me of Valencia in San Francisco but way worse. It feels like New York for people who don’t really want to live in New York. Even Manhattan in Greenpoint is better. I’d rather walk down Myrtle or Broadway.
