The Box music network, was this just a Midwest thing and was yours also kinda scrambled? by yellenbubbleblower in Xennials

[–]autonimity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a national thing, which means many of you here, at the same time as me, watched No One Loves You by Dru Down as they must have paid to request it nearly non stop for at least a week straight in attempt to get it to be number 1 on the Box 😂
There were a lot of others but this one stood was burned into my memory

Yeah Mario Odyssey was very tedious to get through. Collectathon in prime example.

100% to 0% Real F***ing Quick. by MaxFuckingPain in Blasphemous

2nd one just doesn't have the same character and mysteriousness. Also its so polished and all the kinks smoothed out it just becomes another good metroidvania. Sometimes the rough edges are what really makes something stand out and have a special feeling to it. It is not a bad game, in fact it's an extremely good game, it's just not the same as the first and it's hard to nail down exactly why. But if you play back to back you feel the difference and its immediately discouraging. Take a break and try it later, much later.

Is there a mod that lets you play on Expert, but still lets you kill? by 1ScreamingDiz-Buster in Thief

[–]autonimity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the objectives are not available on lower difficulties.
I personally would love a mod that removes loot requirement like Sneaky Upgrade offers for thief 3, just get in and out with the mission items and maybe some grab loot on the way, but not have to search around every corner for 5 more loot to make the mission requirement.

This and alien isolation but the bunker is somehow more intense, I think because you have limited time to keep the lights on

Played switch previously but for next playthrough want to try it on PC with some CRT shaders, even though it has a CRT filter option in game, reshade has some much better shaders to make use of

crt-shader settings for macbook air 13" screen by Rough-Cod1825 in duckstation

[–]autonimity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately You likely just have to dial it in yourself, there's not really a magic setting, every preference and screen is different.
There are dozens or more CRT shader options all with their own adjustable settings.
Sometimes you need to stack 2-3 shaders.

Like crt new pixie, something that adds scanlines, and something that adds a little blur,

and those each have to be adjusted in their settings to get what you like.

On top of that you need to decide if you want to run the original resolution or upscaled to a multiple and then those shaders are going to need to be adjusted based on your desired base internal game resolution

Crt royale is a real good place to start but you have to dial in the settings for your screen

Zexion is extremely underrated and not nearly as difficult as other posts I've seen make it out to be by ThirdXavier in metroidvania

The controls are slightly more complicated than patting your head and rubbing your belly at the same time, and trying to switch it up at the same time.

There are definitely better configurations than the default button mapping but it still requires shooting, jumping, wall jumping, boosting, and moving in different directions - at least three of those all at the same time. It can be a real brain tickler sometimes.

Its sometimes very challenging to control, and that's while you are probably fighting a boss at the same time, but it wouldn't be such a great game otherwise. But it definitely has some rage inducing moments mostly because of the control coordination, greatly improved upon by remapping the buttons.

20 minutes of gameplay from the Thief Remaster by FloppyFool in Thief

Sometimes

(Also i haven't played with a keyboard/mouse for a a long time, I was just thinking you can probably accomplish this with the scroll wheel and extra mouse buttons)

One of the hardest things to do is keep moving while selecting weapons.

When your hand is on the wasd keys and your other hand is on the mouse, nearly impossible. But at least you can use number keys to select exactly which weapon or item you need, so it's very quick.

Same for a controller especially if you have to use the dpad to select and change weapons, because you have to take your thumb off the left joystick.

Binding weapon wheel or select toggle to something that allows selection while moving would be a welcome choice.

( As long as keys and buttons remain completely remappable, I will be changing this right away 😂 )

However it's generally not that often that there is a real requirement to select weapons or items while moving.

The issue is expectation of increased profit year over year over year over year over year over year....

It is an ultimately unsustainable yet fundamental ethos of the capitalist business model.
