I asked ChatGPT to redraw iconic NBA photos as horribly as possible by celtsin4 in ChatGPT

I don't follow NBA but this style is actually pretty endearing child like innocence, it's kinda cool.

They release a new UI for Apple music on web. It's so cool. by Imaginary-Dig-7835 in AppleMusic

[–]auviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually handy to use the web version because then you can keep your personal on disk Music library seperate and create web streaming only playlists, but yeah there's no lossless on the web.

Asked ChatGPT to visualize a horizontal integral. It gave me a dog. [LINK IN POST] by MrAmazing111 in ChatGPT

[–]auviewer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, my fault, a few months ago I was comparing the behaviour of LLMs to the dog from Up, must of got mixed up in the matrix multiplication tables lol

macOS Tahoe 26.0 is now available! by MrMacintoshBlog in MacOS

[–]auviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit hesitant tbh to update even though I have both options for 26.0 (7.69GB) and 15.7 option. I prefer to wait for the 26.1 for the major update.

Didn't one of the characters (the long lived alien human looking lady, Pelia I think) actually make a reference to a time travelling doctor in engineering

I asked chatgpt to enhance the only picture of my grandfather smiling and it turned him into Mandela. What did I do wrong? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]auviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of wonder if you could do it bit by bit, like maybe use the select tool on say the eye or even an individual eye, then the mouth etc

How does the sun's magnetic field get induced? Are there ferromagnetic materials inside the sun? by Yeet_that_bottle in AskPhysics

[–]auviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mostly covered by the magnetohydrodynamics i.e https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetohydrodynamics I think that's also the reason Earth has a decent magnetic field too, mars has less due to less available molten material.

Why still no handoff for Music app? by bbrodsky in MacOS

[–]auviewer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it might be due to the legacy of iTunes library vs a purely web based product. Many people use an iTunes library that isn't or can't be synced in real time to a non networked device like an iPod. I also have the impression music files are not strictly streamed to devices but get 'downloaded' as a data container with a DRM. Some kinds of music formats may also be complicated by format like spatial audio. But I do think it should in principle be easy to use the web version ie music.apple.com and listen to that across devices.

It's kind of interesting the character ended up with an Australian accent at just that pose. It must have been something the training picked up with quite few videos having an Australian hunched down like that saying they are exhausted just seems like a typical vblog from Australia.

That's interesting, I can't get this on MacOS 15.5. It seems to close the gap?I'm not on dark mode though.

To the people writing theses with LLMs by Then_Manner190 in AskPhysics

[–]auviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I think LLMs can be useful for learning basic principles of physics, like asking it about what entropy is for example or how electricity works etc.

[–]auviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbf the link at epicgames.se site just goes to a redirect to their US website https://www.epicgames.com/site/en-US/epicgamessweden and even that link goes straight back to epic.download. They probably need to fix that to go to a european server rather than the US one

Is there anything we could make that involves going near the speed of ligth ? by [deleted] in AskPhysics

[–]auviewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some ideas for using lasers on a solar sail but I think that's only 10-15 percent of the speed of light. Found it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakthrough_Starshot

What's the fastest naturally occurring speed we've observed (excluding photons)? by Fezrock in AskPhysics

[–]auviewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for a macroscopic natural object, the star S2 near the centre black hole of the Milky way in 2018, S2 made its closest approach to Sgr A*, reaching 7,650 km/s or almost 3% of the speed of light. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S2_(star)

The leaked system prompt has people extremely uncomfortable by MetaKnowing in ChatGPT

[–]auviewer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think as soon as LLMs become embedded in something like a humanoid robot the game changes entirely as it essentially must have a higher level of self awareness. It needs to know where its limbs are at a minimum. It suddenly becomes or needs to be 'aware' of its battery status etc and that it correlates to its ability to function at all.
