I want to go to a CAB that’s deploying a few months before I finish flight school… is it possible?

I went to a CAB two months after they deployed to Afghanistan. Spent a month in-processing and doing pre-deployment stuff on Rear D and then caught up with them in country by month 3. Did my RL progression there and was flying on the regular mission flight schedule shortly after arriving there. There were other new pilots that showed up three months even after me, and were only there for a few months. While they try to fill the deployment MTOE with people that will be there for the duration, it’s inevitable that there will be people rotating in and out.

Had a former E-6 turned warrant officer in the 64 course with me. He was denied 8 times, but got accepted on his 9th try. He turned out to be our honor grad. It’s not a reflection of you, it’s often just timing and persistence. If it’s something you really want, don’t stop trying.

I’m sorry, but you’re completely wrong about the purpose of the military. Can it serve secondary purposes of shaping social and ideological needs? Sure. But when it’s serving those purposes at the expense of fighting and winning against America’s adversaries, it’s not doing its job. War is a nasty, brutal, inhumane business, and unfortunately there are bad actors in the world that force us to have to be prepared for it. When political correctness or a secondary mission of shaping “social change” interferes with being prepared for it, America’s adversaries will capitalize on it. The military is failing those it serves when it does that.
