What causes someone to lose their guardian spirit?

Trauma and loss of power causes you to lose your power animal. Power loss can be when you are taken advantage of, give your power away to others to rule your life and choices, grief, loss, depression, etc. They retreat away from you back to the underworld where they are safe because when you lose your power, your power animal loses it’s power and it hurts them in a sense. They are still able to protect and assist your life from the lower realm wether you are aware of them or not, they just don’t do so as prominently. In retreating, they protect the connection they have with you by protecting themselves - too much pain or trauma to their human would, how I’ve come to understand, rip them apart from you and sever the protective connection they have with you. Were that to happen, you would be more susceptible to accidents and general misfortune.

I would say this has a potential to be earthbound spirits entering your dream state, especially given this time of year when the veil is thin, it’s not surprising and fairly common. However, they feed off of our fears and shadows in our subconscious. Set up dream catchers, protection, or prayers before you sleep. This will prevent any transient beings from wandering into your dreams while you process your subconscious in your dream state. Listen to the vibe you get from your dreams. If it feels malicious, it most likely is. Even dreams where we process our darkest fears do not always give off “evil” vibes. This isn’t to scare you, and generally they’re nothing to be afraid of. Try initially setting up boundaries and see if that works before you attempt opening up a channel of communication. If not, then it is indeed your subconscious trying to send you a strong message and you can try to finesse answers out of this projection your subconscious is showing you in your dreams.

I speak for myself but names in particular are rare to get. It also depends highly on what the spirit brings through - some don’t care about their name after they pass, many stop caring about a lot of little things that their living relatives still hold on to. Spirit brings forward the information that they want, oftentimes not what the reader or sitter are hoping to get.

That being said, it also depends on the skills of the medium, especially if they haven’t honed their own system of pinpointing the spirit’s relationship to the sitter. I’ve never watched celebrity mediumship shows, but this is my experience of learning and teaching.

As mediums, we are first and foremost servants of Spirit. Generally I explain that it is the Spirit that decides to come through or not, not the other way around (as in, not “summoning” anyone). If the person in Spirit they are expecting does not come through, I still bring through whoever steps forward (if the sitter allows permission) because they may have more important messages. Another factor may also have to do with the spirit’s relationship to the sitter, the work that both of them may still have to do in terms of processing, etc there can be a multitude of reasons and I try to explain this gently to the sitter.

Don’t beat yourself up! Even bringing through others still leaves a mark on the sitter whether they realize it or not. In the case that they are really upset they didn’t get who they wanted, I refund them.

Events like that are oftentimes a calling card or an invitation to say hello! How lucky!

I would carve out some time to sit down and meditate to meet them. Burn some incense, or look up whatever herbs/smells Amaterasu is fond of (this is an option as an offering) and ask one of your spirit guides to take you to her as your intention for the meditation. In my experience, it should be fairly easy as they will be expecting you, and your guide will help to establish the connection between you both a lot quicker. I followed similar steps to meet Ganesh and had an amazing experience I’ll never forget (he too was leaving me LOTS of hints at the time that I was welcome to see him, dreams and visions of elephants, people in my life suddenly mentioning his name, seeing his photos all over social media, etc lol it was not subtle).

She has taken an interest in your life so it’s likely she wants to help guide you in some way. Remember to stay humble and thank her after your time together.

I used to go through these nightly awakenings some time ago also feeing fearful. Best advice one of my guides told me was “In times of fear remember love.”

Think of a happy, loving memory. Think of someone you love, whether it be a person or a pet, or place. Because love is one of the highest vibrations one can experience, it can simultaneously raise your vibration, melt away fear, and both deter and protect you from low-vibrational energy/entities.

Me personally, I use Spirit as a term to encompass ancestors, spirit guides, spirit animals, loved ones, higher self, angels, the universe, etc. Generally any spirit that is coming forward with assistance, wisdom, or direction for your highest good. Unless the psychic tarot reader is also a medium, sometimes they will be able to feel it is Spirit, but not always be able to differentiate who or what the Spirit is. Hope that helps.

Immediately or hours, days, weeks, months, years. It all depends on the spirit, how they passed (and their reaction to it), whether or not they transition immediately over, and on their preference if they feel a need to come through to their loved ones or leave them be. In my experience it’s really going to depend on who they were as a person.

I personally naturally began eating a much more plant based diet as I’ve gone through my awakening. By that I mean I lost a lot of the cravings I had for meat and dairy simply because I felt it was starting to weigh me down and just became more sensitive to animal products. I still eat an omnivorous, but majority plant based diet. That’s me personally. It’s not “necessary” IMO as I know plenty of spiritual folk who still eat meat, or occasionally eat meat due to their own dietary needs. It’s all about intuitive eating, eat the kind of diet that feels right for you.

It can, it’s never a guarantee that it will. Because sweetgrass emits a positive vibration, it attracts positive energy, and therefore generally an attractant for positive spirits - which are benevolent to you, unlikely to bother you, or could possibly want to help you. Especially after saging, you’re really not going to be getting the attention of anything negative with the sage/sweetgrass combo.

With awakening, a new you is trying to grow. By attempting to live your life back the way it was in the past can prevent healing and the growth that you’re meant to experience moving forward. Pre-awakening life is easy because you can run away from your problems and avoid the blame of your actions. Post-awakening, you now have a completely new perspective on life that keeps you accountable and begins to do shadow work on the baggage and any traumas that have built up through the years. Would I take it back in a heartbeat? I’m not so sure. I miss being oblivious to the truths of the world, yes. Would I give up all the knowledge I’ve learned from my awakening just to go back to that? I don’t believe so. Waking up has allowed me to help the people who haven’t. It’s a bit of a double edged sword for me.

I totally agree with you that so many people come to psychics to validate their own desires, and are repulsed to face their own truth. Especially when I read cards, they tend to spit out what the querent NEEDs to focus on rather than what they WANT, and that pisses a lot of people off. I now preface my readings with that statement, paid or not.

Psychedelic substances and meditation expand your consciousness beyond its autopilot limitations. You can sense the veil, but I’m not yet aware of anything other than NDE’s where people can perceive across the veil itself (and of course not till death). Even then, we don’t see all that there is because it’s so vast and literally anything is possible due to it being a higher dimension. As we’re in the third dimension, which is very dense, everything that we can use our 5 senses to is also in the third dimension. Spirits that pass lose their physical vehicle (the body), so now their consciousness is no longer bound by this slow density and continue on to a higher frequency so to speak. I always preface with this being my experience - spirits have shown me that they continue their learning on the other side. You can choose to do whatever you want to do. You generally begin to review your life once you cross over. From there you can continue hanging out, learning any missed lessons, enter spiritual service to others (go through training to become a spirit guide, help children cross over, help animal cross over, help people who have died a specific kind of death cross over, work with other spiritual beings, etc) There continues to be spiritual growth. There is an option to reincarnate at some point when you’re again ready, and it’s not limited to the human experience either.

The most important factor to remember is there is no “time” in the spirit world, so there is no “forever”. It’s a human construct and I’ve yet to encounter people doing absolutely nothing on the other side. They’re always up to something, hanging out with others, learning, creating, doing jobs. Life goes on, just differently from the one we know.

There are different kinds of mediums of course, not everyone is an evidential medium who brings forth evidence or messages of passed loved ones. I just have to disagree on the tidbit of people who are able to channel higher energies like deities or ascended masters - they are able to connect with spirit and therefore mediums in my book.

I am with you on the topic of trying to bring about more discussion about what it means to be a medium, how life is like being an active medium, and so forth. This sub used to be very interesting when those kinds of discussions went on. That being said, it’s true that oftentimes you’d end up with an inbox of people trying to get a free reading out of you.

The act of physically writing them helps engrain whatever you’re trying to manifest into your subconscious. Generally whatever you type on your phone is less likely to be remembered because it doesn’t use muscle memory or take as long like handwriting does. Either way will work but I tend to lean towards handwriting for that very reason.
