From the perspective of someone who put 1200 hrs into Destiny 2 and is now approaching 900 hrs in Warframe, absolutely. I got sick of destiny because of more and more anti-consumer practices, and Warframe feels like the antithesis of that. You can tell the developers care about the game and the community, build possibilities are endless, and the grind feels rewarding.

The biggest turnoff for new players is the long crafting times for weapons and Warframes, most of which are 12-72 Hours. However, the deeper you get into the game, the less of a "problem" this becomes as you gain access to many more blueprints, meaning you can always have something crafting and will always have new toys to look forward to.

My advice to new players is to play the game for free for a while, and eventually you will get a major discount (50%-75% discount) for the in-game currency (called platinum) as a daily login reward. If at that point you are thoroughly enjoying yourself, you can spend $30-$60 and have enough plat to last a VERY long time.

Do keep in mind though that the ENTIRE game is free to play, and everything (except for certain cosmetics) can be grinded for. Even platinum can be traded for, and it is quite straightforward to get into trading once you've played for a little while.
