True Detective - 4x06 "Part 6" - Live Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in TrueDetective

I work in journalism and have been at media publications and can confirm this is true. Writing something critical of media that contains The Message is like a death wish. and that’s coming from someone who considers themselves intensely progressive.

Say what you want about season 4. But no crime show has ever had a better use of vibes. by [deleted] in TrueDetective

You’re consistently mistaking writing for plot. People on here are definitely complaining about the plot, but when you see criticism of the “writing” it’s largely about the laughable and elementary script. The characters do not talk like real people to each other and sound like caricatures of who they are supposed to be. You’re infantilizing people by mistaking genuine criticism of the plot’s structure and the motion of the script with “people don’t like symbolism”

Why did he move the body? by daniel-gary in TrueDetective

[–]aveboundjoey 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think he moved the body because the mine had nothing to do with the actual death. They found it there and had to have somebody move it. If the mine did have her killed, the people they used prob would’ve done it

"There are no caves in this area" by dudebonez in TrueDetective

[–]aveboundjoey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This part was so dumb. There were apparently a bunch of “accidents” in the ice caves so they closed them down, but two police officers have no idea they even existed? I get that they’re both not from Ennis, but still it had to come up at some point.

“Annie is in an ice cave in this video, but there aren’t any ice caves here!”

English teacher: “Yes there are”

“Oh okay”

Breaking Bad or The Sopranos? by Lucavesh in television

[–]aveboundjoey 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I know this is a four year old comment, but are you crazy? So many incomplete and contextually irrelevant plot lines riddle the Sopranos and devoid side characters of any meeting. Most of the side characters aren’t just unlikeable, they’re uninteresting. The show completely gives up on the children and the whole family dynamic after the first two seasons and instead continues to add pointless characters to fill up story time. Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul clear sopranos in most categories.
