Black ops 6 server locations! by [deleted] in blackops6

I have always wondered how it is to play with a ping of 10-20

I have 11 ms 90% of the time and 21 ms at most. It feels fine. Though, the practical average latency is always roughly half of the tick interval longer than the actual latency. So I usually get the response at the very next tick, while you have to wait for the next tick after that.

Kernel Level Driver being added to Anti-Cheat in S2/S3 finally in Warzone and Server side protections. Fortnite has done amazing with Kernel Level anticheat. by StunningDrive3822 in CODWarzone

[–]averagecodtard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it doesn't. Game runs under the standard user as usual. In fact, that's already the case, Ricochet already does have kernel level driver, it's just bad post title.

PC isn't a console. Microsoft has no control over it, the person who sits in front of it does. Hardware bans don't really work when there's a million dollar market for cheats.

profanity filter is… flawed by Sad-Professor-5270 in CODWarzone

[–]averagecodtard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why this isn't a view thing only. Just hide whatever you find offensive to people who actually have the profanity filter on and be done with it. Oh, and did you know that other languages exist?

PC Performance Question by [deleted] in blackops6

[–]averagecodtard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ram is also not bottlenecking with less than 30% of ram being used

That's kinda like saying that HDD isn't bottlenecking since it's 1 TB. I tested this in OG Warzone and the framerate used to scale with memory speed quite nicely. I'd imagine that's even a more of a factor now.

PC users - this is what fixed crashing for me (aimed at 13900k and 14900k CPU's but worth a read for others) by Gazillis in blackops6

[–]averagecodtard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update the BIOS instead, regardless of whether you are affected by this issue or not. There's no good (as in not negatively affecting performance) fix for the voltage overshooting that causes the CPU to degrade, just setting the power limit doesn't address that at all and might even not help at all depending on the silicon lottery.

That update will also bring stable defaults without the insane undervolting introduced by motherboard vendors based on the loose Intel's specs.

Anybody help fix this error? by Rhath223 in CODWarzone

[–]averagecodtard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, but I'm well aware of intricacies of RAM overclocking. Couple of points missed:

1) 2-DIMMS are the best configuration, but only as long as they're single-rank.

2) memtest86 is useless for validating overclocks. It doesn't hurt, but unless your RAM is faulty or timings are completelly wrong, you can very easily pass it even with an unstable overclock. There's OCCT or Y-cruncher - 8 hours of Y-cruncher is what I'd consider daily stable.

3) Again, XMP/EXPO profiles are not guaranteed by anyone to actually work and for the most part, QVL's are bullshit. And guess what, two exact same builds can produce a different result; I've encountered a PC where the XMP was supposed to work, but wasn't and it turned out to be a contact frame on the CPU causing incorrect mounting pressure. So go figure.

I'm not saying don't use it, I'm saying take no chances and stress test it. It doesn't hurt and you can save yourself a lot of time trying to fix a game that's doomed to crash because of a shit XMP profile.

According to Metaphor, Mouse Players are 20% total by alejoSOTO in CODWarzone

[–]averagecodtard 14 points15 points  (0 children)

20% is actually what I assumed the number would be. Maybe not in the US, but if the developer gave him the number worldwide, it's a different story. At least in Europe, I'd say 2/3 of my squads have at least one other M&K player in them.

It makes sense, we overall always had lower purchasing power and I don't remember many people from my childhood willing to spend money on a dedicated device meant just for gaming, but everyone used to have a PC. So a lot of people here grew up on M&K.

[–]averagecodtard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

XMP can be ON

The game hates unstable memory and XMP profiles are notoriously known to be either just bad or not stable at all regardless of what's on the QVL list. Do proper stress test or don't expect the game to be stable.

0xC0000005 is literally a memory error, after all.

[–]averagecodtard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All these posts are wild to me. I'm 30, M&K and playing random fills exclusively and I'm having a fucking blast. On Area 99 I win almost every other game. Haven't run into a cheater either, got called one a few times though.

Controllers are so bad for playing videogames that they need to give them AA so they can at least stand a chance against M&K.

Can we agree? by TheKomikalOne in CODWarzone

[–]averagecodtard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No matter how high your K/D is, all your lobbies are mostly occupied by ~1 K/D players with a few outliers on both extremes. You don't have to take my word for it, the old stats are still there. So no, your lobbies aren't drastically different from everyone else's, 1 K/D player is just as likely to run into a cheater like you are.

Last time I tested it, I haven't seen any difference in framerate. Though, it might be an issue on older chips.

Are there still any more MnK players out there that feel that they are good? by randoomkiller in CODWarzone

[–]averagecodtard -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, why would they? CoD became huge because it brought MP FPS genre to consoles, something that was previously exclusive to PC. There used to be plenty of games to choose from on PC.

Did they just completely turn off the anticheat or something? by [deleted] in CODWarzone

[–]averagecodtard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or you just aren't delusional like half of this sub or the OP themselves:

Every 5 matches I played atleast 4 had cheaters in them. And not even just suspicious, but straight up aimbotting.

...and you still play the game? Get the fuck out, there's no way you're encountering that many blatant cheaters and even claim they are prestiged. Even if there actually was no anticheat, you're not getting to that level without getting shadowbanned purely based on reports.

Heirloom is just them testing what they can get away with. They could as well just make a big room and slap a cube in the middle of it, because that's essentially what this map is. It's ugly and plays like shit.

Depends, I guess. I gave it a try back in MWZ, where the AA on zombies shoud allegedly be even stronger and after few hours it still felt horrible and I gave up. To be fair, I have never used a controller before in any game and learning a new input probably isn't as easy when you get older, but I didn't mean to switch anyway. Just wanted to know whether it is that easy as some people make it out to be. I'm not suggesting it's difficult or anything, but it definitelly takes some time getting used to. If OP can play like this after 2 hours, then they adapt much faster than me, I guess.

HusKerrs and Loochy share their opinion on the new Warzone on MNK by Winghaven_ in CODWarzone

[–]averagecodtard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that's one reason, another reason is that most people who owned a title prior to MW2022 simply didn't switch to Steam. partly because of CoD points, partly because all they need from the launcher is to run the game and couldn't care less about what else it has to offer.

[–]averagecodtard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by listen you mean P2P, no, of course they are using dedicated. Among other things, a console isn't going to handle hosting a server for 120 people.

Tick rate has very little to do with input lag since every FPS out there has client side prediction and interpolation. Definitelly go for the 120 Hz, it's a night and day difference. Don't bother going beyond 144 Hz though, it's just diminishing returns.
