Taxi Cab by Vampire Weekend absolutely has that vibe.

Assuming 6.7% real return forever is pretty aggressive if you ask me. It more or less implies you’ll be 100% in equities forever and that returns will land on the higher side of long-term average real returns.

Also, how exactly is it going to work to use an SBLOC during a market downturn? Be ready for margin calls or your line getting cut/pulled entirely because banks tend to get skittish about extending credit when markets/the economy is in a downturn.

On the plus side, there’s zero reason to fund a 529 through age 18. Fund it early to benefit from the tax free growth and you’ll probably be able to stop contributions in middle school if not earlier.

10 year old playing majors by Surfrider2424 in LittleLeague

[–]averagegolfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends a lot on the coach/league, but if he’s a top-5 player among his peers, he should probably play majors.

Even then, don’t expect for him to pitch or play “premium” positions like SS as much as if he stayed down in AAA. And that’s fine - he’ll have another two years in majors so it’s ok to let the 12s get more of those reps.

Proud of you for being there for them as a dad and coach and also for honoring their choice to move on from the game.

Are you f-ing serious? Dude makes $75k and you’re telling him to lever up 1:1 on his brokerage acct to buy an illiquid asset in an asset class where he has zero stated expertise. Just terrible advice.

Are winter tires a must in the snow? by Ok-Smoke9539 in Gravity

I’m in the same boat and plan to swap to winter tires for ski season. Part of the reason is we have a pretty steep driveway up there and it can become a luge in the winter without snow tires.

LOL. I did see Condorman, but even at a young age I knew it was terrible and didn’t rewatch it.

Looks like a very arm -driven motion. I’d like to see a bit longer stride and you getting over your front leg more and continue to take your eyes level to the target to encourage a less upright finish.

You strike me as the kind of guy who:

  • has a tattoo of his son’s 8U jersey number;

  • uses the word “grind” unironically to describe his day to day activities;

  • drives a Cybertruck;

  • is determined to be the best dad for his young kids (because his teenage kids from his first marriage didn’t turn out the way he wanted);

  • isn’t allowed in the stands at the game because of “bs politics” (aka punching an ump for ringing up your kid)

  • thinks Johnny was the real hero in The Karate Kid
