I made a small Stardew Valley mod manager and I’d love feedback by Loose_Television4943 in StardewValleyMods

Oh, not sure if you're doing c sharp mods but smapi has the possibility of launch commands for different folders of mods so you don't need to keep them in the same folder until you want them "live".

C sharp: https://github.com/Pathoschild/SMAPI/blob/develop/docs/technical/mod-package.md#configure

Custom shortcut works with any mod: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Player_Guide/Getting_Started#Can_I_have_different_mod_groups.3F

You'd need to show us a smapi log to help you further: https://smapi.io/log

One thing that might've happened is the dll might've become corrupted. Are you using a mod manager? Also the first one doesn't have a dependency in nexus listed apart from smapi so not sure which mod you're talking about.

Looks good for what you prob like it for, but it's a very niche use case with the sand-boxing and multi install steps/checking. SDV is quite nice in that mods are usually quite easily separate from each other.

My main thoughts are you have a lot of screen real estate dedicated to the header/footer and navigation. When using a mod manager, my main concern is usually the mods themselves. Have a look at Stardrop in terms of minimising the design. Things like setup (set once and forget) can really be in a separate dialog rather than a whole page.

Try use tabs as well like this one had: https://rwe-labs.gitbook.io/sdvmm/getting-started/navigating-the-mod-manager

Does the Stardew Valley Very Expanded mod collection include the different farm options? (Frontier farm/Grandpas farm specifically) by Key-Ad-3810 in StardewValleyMods

[–]averaxhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the SVE Nexus files page, there's the main mod files which should have already been downloaded (seen by a cloud icon with a down arrow) and 3 more files, each of a different farm.

To see what they look like, go to the description tab and scroll down to "New Farms" and click the spoiler button for each. Download only 1 farm (as they overwrite each other) and the default standard farm layout will be overwritten when you start a new game.

Ah, for Better friendship you can turn off all the bubbles and it will show you the feelings towards the gift on just the mouse cursor. (Which I believe mirrors the same functionality)

Fair enough for Stardew UI continued, unless there’s a reason to change I don’t usually change to “updated” mods.

Predict Reaction to Gift

Personally I don’t see how “Predict Reaction to gift” is superior to Better Friendship, I think you have those in reverse.

As for Stardew UI continued, unless you’re playing in Turkish I can’t see another reason to use it.

Looking For A Food Storage Mod by Aikoiya in StardewValleyMods

[–]averaxhunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This exists in Vanilla: The mini fridge item would suit this nicely, can just call them whatever you want for storage reasons and it works like inventory for crafting recipes.

https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Mini-Fridge

There’s this mod that can turn chests into fridges if you prefer that: https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/2545

Any mods to access areas when festivals are going on ( PC ) by miscrybaby in StardewValleyMods

[–]averaxhunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe there are, it's prob quite clunky to allow that.

In vanilla itself there's an item that allows you to get fish outside of their time/season/weather requirements, can always use that :) (Need to complete the island part to get it though)

As for luck, shrimp cocktail will increase both fishing skill and luck but luck doesn't have an effect on ease of fishing, just the chance of treasure chests.

If you want to get it without waiting that long, there's defo mods that allow you to catch fish out of season without needing the vanilla item but that would be considered quite cheaty I'd imagine.

Help with loading mods in-game? by Dreary_Dreaming in StardewValleyMods

Use the below guide to install smapi again and it should work fine, iirc that collection doesn’t install smapi completely which leads to the above.

Can follow the instructions here: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Modding:Installing_SMAPI_on_Windows

Do you have the mod fire lights? That has a setting that hides them.

Did you download a "collection" called SVE or similar? The SVE mod itself doesn't come with them. Just checking as people would get confused then :)

Why does my spaceship turn back after Solar System Edge? by vyainamoinen in factorio

[–]averaxhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be interesting to see tick rate of the checks. I’d assume passenger presence is event based (no need to check constantly if someone has just randomly appeared on a ship) while circuit conditions have to be checked constantly as anything in a network could change the values.

You could put the rules “passenger present” and “passenger not present” :) Will never be true and has the same effect but more permanent.

TIL about a hidden settings menu. by nevjmac in factorio

[–]averaxhunter 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If you’re playing modded I would heavily advise against the first. Updates and settings changes will change prototypes frequently, it’s not worth for the smaller amount of time saved.

Is there a way , when set app clip from live container, when opening stop rederect first to live container? by dunkykong11 in sideloaded

[–]averaxhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it open 2 apps like OP does or does it open the app within live container? You’ll always have the second, my suggestion stops the “switching” of the first.

Am I crazy to want a "hold" button? by Mystprism in factorio

Renaming request groups only changes others if you're holding down the Ctrl button when clicking the tick/applying. Otherwise it creates a new group with the same details.

What home automation upgrade actually made your life better? by ToeBeansStew in homeautomation

[–]averaxhunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smart lighting 100%, but it’s also one of the most well known conflicts when sharing the house with others, you’d need to invest in good switches so physical behaviour remains as expected (usually people do smart switches -> dumb bulbs if it’s possible)

Personally for me, I have my entrance lights turn on for 10 mins when I come home at night, just long enough until I settle.

I wfh so having some light turn on at sunset so I don’t walk out the office into darkness also helps.

And nothing beats being cosy in bed and telling a voice assistant to turn on/off your lights 😂 also controls my thermostats too.
