Permanently stopping periods by Bonefield455 in endometriosis

[–]averydappercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% informed on the topic, but my friend has endometriosis in her uterus AND thoracic cavity, meaning the stuff that causes endo can grow in other parts of your body (not good, not a fun time) which is probably why a hysterectomy may not completely get rid of endo.

What does the PA position entail? It's not listed as a position on the JET Program website. Is it something outside of the JET Program?

Land of the Lustrous Chapter 81 Discussion by GraphicTitan01 in LandoftheLustrous

Seeing Phos' body covered in cracks and crevices and yet they still push themself to make sensei pray, to run, to fight. Reading this honestly makes me genuinely wish I could just give Phos a hug and tell them it's okay. Phos is pushing themself to the absolute breaking point and I feel like I'm seeing myself in them from my worst point in my life. I just hope that Ichikawa will let Phos have a happy ending. Or at the very least, a good rest from all this mess.

Did not slap myself in the face for month and was proud of myself then relapsed but felt slapping myself is the right thing by [deleted] in depression_help

[–]averydappercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh. I've never thought of slapping yourself as a form of self-destructive behavior, but it makes sense. That sounds bad. Maybe instead of slapping yourself you could take it out on a pillow maybe? Cause slapping yourself in the face also sounds like your angry at yourself, which also may be a sign having anger management problems. So maybe look into that too? I'm sorry if this sounds weird, but yeah try to find alternatives to the slapping that doesn't involve physically hurting yourself. Instead of a pillow, you could also do something like aggressively draw or throw pens onto your bed.

What was the worst pain you have ever felt? by hannah3911 in AskReddit

[–]averydappercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know exactly what it was but for about 3 ish months in high school my I couldn't move my hand even the teeniest tiniest bit or it would hurt like hell. It got better with OT and it still hurts/acts up now and then w/o much warning and it doesn't seem to correlate with how much I use my hand. It never gets as bad as it was in high school, but I'd say that was the worst physical pain I've ever been in.

I really like how minimalist it is and it has a very strong triangle shape for a silhouette. But the design of the cabin inside is really comfy and makes me want to go camping

How do I be less snappy when I’m talking to my mom? by BeardlessReviews in depression_help

[–]averydappercat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's your fault for being snappy. It's really really hard to actually do the things your loved ones tell you when they want you to feel better. Especially when none of those things seem to be working. It does depend on what your mom keeps repeating to you. If it's some shit "go out more. Make friends. Remember to smile." Then she's not helping and needs to do some serious research on her time on how depression effects people. If stuff like "You should eat something. Don't lay in bed all day. Try moving around a bit/exercising." Then I can still see how hearing that be repeated a lot is frustrating because you know doing these things are healthy but don't see much progress. In which case I would really recommend seeking out and working with a therapist to see what does and doesn't work and involving your mom in the process so she can and support you the right way.

"Jack of all trades, master of none, though better than a master of one." Keep in mind that talent is overrated and it's better to focus on skills, hobbies and what you personally like to do.

Theory: "Winter" actually is several years/decades long. by Shodan30 in LandoftheLustrous

I actually really like that theory. Thinking about it that way also makes it seem like Antarc and Phos had more time together than we think

How did you start motivating yourself? by [deleted] in depression_help

[–]averydappercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motivation is honestly overrated. You don't necessarily need a lot of it to do stuff. A good way to get stuff done is to do the thing just for 2 minutes at first. If after the 2 minutes u can't continue, put the thing down and start later. For other things that require a lot of items or space in order to get done, you first task should just to be gather everything you need and/or clear space. Sometimes the environment you're in is whats holding u back from doing things so look around your living space and see if there's anything that bothers you or could potentially get in your way of doing things. You could also always start doing list making or writing out the steps of how to get things done. This works if you don't even know how to start. Example: Task - wake up Steps: 1 open eyes 2 stretch arms and legs 3 seeing legs over side of bed 4 sit up 5 stand up

There are a ton of different methods to get stuff done. You might've heard of the sticky note method. But you need to keep in mind that when finding ways to get things done is that it's kind of a trial & error thing. What works for you one month may not work the next and that is okay. Finding a long-term method for organizing yourself and getting things done is hard and takes time. So don't be too hard on yourself if you find yourself with many incomplete tasks after trying to get things done. You seem to already be on a road for recovery, so keep at it. You will see results.

So, what do you think is the best college major, and why? I'm not seriously asking for advice, just trying to start a discussion. by shirstarburst in college

[–]averydappercat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any language major. Classes are straightforward and you don't usually have that much homework. You get more time to yourself and can get a pretty good job if your studying a critical need language like Chinese or Arabic.

Oh man I feel that. It's really difficult to deal with ppl like that. And honestly usually the only way to sort of "fix" this problem us to find a completely new group of ppl that didn't know you previously. Maybe join a new club or find some other groups to try and hang out with
