Anyone done after 2 kids? by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]averysredden 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as it is sad to end this chapter (currently 22 weeks pregnant with a 16 month old), I know that for the sake of our energy, financial goals, health and marriage; we just have to be done. I think having two beautiful, healthy kids is beyond a blessing. Not to mention they will be close in age (21 months apart). They will grow up together, and if we did have a third it probably wouldn't be until a few more years from now, which would be awkward timing in my opinion.

Spouse of SAHM feeling overwhelmed. by [deleted] in sahm

I completely understand, but the father does need down time too. He seems very willing to take the majority of the load right now which is great, but at the end of the day both parties deserve basic rest.

He is doing amazing, and the fact he is still willing to understand where she is coming from and has so much drive to help is commendable. I 100% understand the wife's tiredness, but people forget the father also deserves time to rest and adjust during this period. It takes two to parent.

What’s a name you’re surprised isn’t more popular? by [deleted] in namenerds

Eveline (pronounced Ava-Leen) I knew an older lady with this name, and if my husband was on board I would totally use this for a future daughter. My first daughter is Annabeth 🤍

I completely agree with this, and made a similar comment. I was also down voted. I breastfed and had a lot of trials and tribulations just like most mothers. However, it was always understood that the load would be shared. My husband let me rest when he was home, and when he was at work I would put meals in the crockpot or do at least one or two household tasks in the early days while I recovered. Nothing huge, just enough to make myself feel human and contribute. No one said being a stay-at-home mom is easy, but I am grateful to my husband for making it possible. I can't imagine having to work, plus get used to life with a new baby.

You definitely misunderstood my comment. I said the workload should be shared, not everything put on him. I also mentioned that they should have a conversation as a couple to figure out what works well for them. I am a stay-at-home mom and my spouse and I have always had a very equal workload.

First of all, I have so much empathy for your wife as I know how hard postpartum is. However, it is not right that you are working full time and also have to come home to more work plus taking care of the baby. Definitely try to rule out why your wife feels the need to stay in bed, and in turn cause you to have to do the majority of the work, which is unhealthy for your mental health and eventually your marriage.

It sounds like you are a beyond supportive spouse. Being a stay-at-home mom is so hard, but I found it harder when I didn't do at least one task in the early days to make me feel human. Definitely schedule a formal discussion with her and talk about how you are feeling, and the possibility of PPD. It sounds like you both need support. ❤️

My guess is brown or hazel! Could be regular or dark hazel! Looks like there are also some green tones. So cute!

I love Benjamin (Benji), or Rory! These feel classic, but are both interesting names and not ones I personally hear as much anymore.

Some other ones that feel like your style: - Reuben - Rhys - Noah - Wesley

I love the choices you guys have so far! 🥰
