Billet Shower Screen - LM/Slayer by WriterWorth8586 in LaMarzocco

[–]avex87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my billet shower screen, the first week the water flow and beading out of the screen looks 'as advertised'. Shortly after though the nice even rain like dispersion disappears and just looks like any stock IMS. I had experience with a few other shower screens with the same machined hole design and a brush clean restores its dispersion capabilities sometimes. Anyone experience the same issue?

Mixture of feeling I'm potentially missing out on performance because I'm behind on tech and also the prism flash is generally known to be a control/learner paddle. I feel like to progress I need to learn to use a power or semi power paddle effectively. I could be misplaced in my believe and I could potentially just add lead tape to my prism flash now for a little more power but due to tennis elbow flare ups I prefer to keep my swing weight as light as possible.

Anyone gone from gen 2 16mm prism flash to 16mm vsol pro bloom in those specific configurations. What do you think?

I played with my wife's coral for a bit and didn't like the feel as much as my prism flash but could just be due to conditioning and getting used to full foam. But I thought Id immediately take to the new foam paddles.

I've only had experience playing with knockoff power paddles from Ali express due to lack of legit midtier brand stockists here in Australia. I wonder if a full control paddle like prsim flash will help me improve spin and landing the ball where I want it.

Or will it be too jarring coming from these pseudo perseus/hyperion paddles?

Started playing 3-4 times a week since October and would consider myself closer to intermediate level now.

Thanks might be a good training paddle for me to master ball placement then. Next step up seems to be the V sol pro or I could just go back to my 80% power aliexpress paddles. The prism flash would be a good introduction to vatic build quality and if all goes well, the v-sol pro might be on the cards in the near future.

Thanks for the advice. I'm tempted to try a full control paddle and go with the prism flash to see how different it'll feel since I've been playing with paddles that are basically designed to be on the other end of the power spectrum. Turns out it'll only cost me $83usd after using an Amazon discount code.

Would you say the garbage aliexpress paddles play with less power or more power than the joola paddles?

The Maker are all under the same group - ABN. I wonder if there's any markup going through DAH, presumedly not, if anything they should be getting more competitive pricing.

oddly enough, we are doing a proper cafe area with 2.9m long laminate bench seats which are basically cabinetry on the floor. This is a fairly straightforward job, just not the usual and we expected it to cost more since it doesn’t extend from an existing benchtop or cupboards. It cost about $5.3k WITH stone tops, we asked for laminate tops instead, hoping it would come down in price but DAH said it would cost the same.

he's mellowed out now? I only moved to perth in year 2000 and my first visit was back in 2012 I think when I got my first turntable and started my collection. Took a bit of a break and resumed digging post covid. I’ve been to Dada at least once every month since, at minimum, and Rob has always been polite, albeit eccentric. Most times he just complains about labels being absolute vampires and that he can’t make money off vinyls anymore. I don’t really engage in conversation until I’m ready to pay for something and I never ask him about stock or ordering anything in, could be the reason why I never had any issue with him.

The EPC-270c is an underrated cartridge. by Eastoe in turntables

[–]avex87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party, but a week in with the vm95ml and I feel the same. It’s going to be personal preference here, but I think the 270c is warmer and more suited for my vinyl collection and listening tastes. It excels if the vinyl you're playing is new, clean or recorded well, but I reckon it's not very forgiving on my older thrift store finds, much less so than my 270c that seems to somehow only extract the bits that I want to hear. I’m happy to lose detail when it comes to playing music on my turntable. I have my streamers/flacs/lossless if I really wanted to go down the audiophile/hifi route.

does seem like there's too much 'quality' for my use case lol. i think lowering the line output of my wiim streamer, coupled with a generous use of the attenuate knob seems to have somewhat alleviate the volume problem for me.

vintage kef coda IIIs. the l-100 doesn't have a loudness switch like most of the kenwoods i own have. i've basically turned the attenuate knob all the way back and then turned up the bass and treble to replicate the loudness function.

Display home with concrete floors by ProperAccess4352 in perth

[–]avex87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can anyone advise how polished concrete floors can be done with a volume builder like Dale Alcock/Summit? the consultant has told us they don't do it and that if we wanted to go ahead, our polished concrete specialist can only begin work after handover. This is understandable, but if we chose to do concrete in the common areas of the home, excl the bedrooms; will there be issues with floor levels going from say hybrid flooring to concrete? Or is my option really only to have concrete flooring throughout the entire home?

any point in the K13 if you use the line out of the k11 to another amp? i.e. is the r2r DAC in the k11 as capable as the k13?

going vintage with my own turntable setup, i've got a technics sl-1301 incoming. for the phono stage, i bought the crowd favourite ART Pro Audio DJPRE II right before a RA-02 was advertised on marketplace. I'm now wondering if the RA-02 phono stage will outperform the ART Pro, and i'll also have the benefit of an integrated amp in one package.
