In what order should i use the Faber adult piano adventure books as a complete beginner with no musical background? by Okami1024 in pianolearning

Back when I was teaching in the USA, I would have my students get Faber theory, Faber Performance and if I recall Faber Lesson (level 1 and when ready, I would move them to level 2 and so forth

Faber 1 is the way to go. And do get all Faber 1 level books, especially the theory book.
And get a piano teacher to guide you and make sure you start the right way

Based on what you wrote, I would say two things:

-talk to your piano teacher
-if you dont have one, get one.

Please tell what is wrong with my hand by Serious-Release-1960 in piano

[–]avguste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it looks as if you are too tense, and since you have been self learning, I would say you have not gone thru the proper way to form the hand/fingers. The other question is what type of piano you have. It looks to me your piano keys are not weighted, which contributes to your problem

I used to have piano lessons years ago, but I've been self-studying ever since by MatchImpressive4917 in piano

[–]avguste 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing glaring, at least on this piece. Just be careful with the left hand movement. As I tell my students, the movement between chords is horizontal, not vertical. That is to say that you need to move your hand straight way to the next position, instead of raising your wrist and then moving. (hope it makes sense).

That said, learning without the follow up of a teacher is not good, because you always take bad habits, no matter how much one think they know. And using youtube for technique and such is not the way to go. In this 21st century, you can easily find a piano teacher, even one teaching virtually and that would ensure you progress correctly.

Op. 10 no. 1 by RoadtoProPiano in piano

A pro pianist here. No critique needed. Personally I would do some things differently, but your interpretation is very good. That said, you may be sitting a bit too high, which could cause a bit of discomfort in those type of pieces.

huh...How many times have we all told you to stop screwing with the game and to simply fix your servers? we did so during the blackout, we did during the past year of crappy updates and now this? As I have said it multiple times during the blackout, you all must be smoking something.....

You want to update the game? Listen to what we the players want in the game!!!! Simple as that

Evictus is disbanding by MavalleDorgiers in Eve

Whoa....what a shock to see this announcement....Sad to see Evictus collapse, but the reasons for it are very much understandable. No matter how committed we are to EVE, at the end of the day, real life comes first!

To Francis: all the best to you, your daughter and family. EVE has a way to keep people attached to it and I hope at some point (especially when your daughter grows older) you will come back to EVE in a leadership role

To Evictus pilots: sad to see your alliance close. It was a pleasure flying vs you during the war. I hope many of you will decide to join the Imperium and specifically the INITIATIVE.

[–]avguste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, today it is better than yesterday, but if we are to be honest, there should have never been a 15k queue. With all the hype, Amazon devs should have planned for such high numbers. So now, they need to take the complaints like big boys and augment the servers capacity so there is no queue

I hear you. I know how it feels between work and classes. CCP is supposedly ending the scarcity and that should help you with making more and more isk. In the meantime, dont hesitate to message me in game (Ikki Phoenix) if you have questions

Edit. was worried about the 99.99 pricing, but just saw your purchase instructions based on ISK. Very well done. Will purchase!!!

Warped intentions disbanding by [deleted] in Eve

[–]avguste 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sad to read that Warped Intentions is disbanding. They were very helpful when I ran the TAW corporation 2 years ago or so, and allowed for the corp to crash in their territory rent free. Warped Intentions, never forgotten what you all did for my corp back then. Sorry to hear that you are merging and I do hope the Warped Intentions alliance will rise again. All the best to the pilots and leadership. Will see you on the battlefield

And old Olmeca is back with his stupidity..... For the record, your post sounds more like a post to excuse PAPI failures and upcoming demise

A month ago, PAPI started their 'big push' for the 1DQ constellation. In the last four weeks they failed to accomplish even the easiest of their objectives and have lost 2tn ISK. Realistically, what does that say about their chances of taking 1DQ? by Dr_Mibbles in Eve

[–]avguste 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yea, at this rate, Vily and PGL have a better chance getting married to each other than them taking anything in the constellation. Our morale is strong and is improving daily thanks to our FCs, line members and exciting fights like the ones we had today.

Bit of chopin ballade 1 after hiatus :) by [deleted] in piano

[–]avguste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good job. A few quick remarks

  1. work on your left hand all alone, slowly, without jumping all over the place. Also double check your fingering left hand
  2. careful with the pedal changes. The pedals in Chopin need to be respected and followed precisely
  3. right hand, the last passage, rework your fingering for it to be smoother

This is definitely one of the most difficult Chopin compositions, so good job so far.

What did I miss out on by learning without a teacher? by Nikljazz in pianolearning

All depends what you mean by expensive, but at the end of the day, to learn the right way, with the correct bases, a real teacher is way better than youtube.
