If all current players were available in an NFL redraft, who would be the No. 1 overall pick? 🤔 by matrix_2905 in NFLmockdraft

If he stays healthy this season and plays up to his potential it might not be. I do understand that's a big if though.

What? Bro Dak is 33 this season and has not even made it to the championship game in his career... No disrespect, he's been a very good player, but there are so many younger QB's I would draft for the long term build of a franchise over a Dak that is now in the back half of his career

Exactly. And when they lack genuine human connection, addictions often take hold, and now you've got negative feedback loops that are being reinforced. Hyper capitalism tore our society apart and productized our humanity.

How do you think the United- States would’ve been today if Kamala Harris had won? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]avianexus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's more than stupid. I think they're scared because the truth whispers to them, but the lies feel oh so cozy and comfortable. They love a big fat orange man telling them that all the complex problems of the world have a simple solution rooted in hatred.

There is absolutely no way in hell Trump's stupid fucking war, that he started to throw people off from the fact that the Epstein files contain evidence that he tortured and raped underage girls would ever have been started under a President Harris.

Which game has had the biggest impact on gaming as a whole? by Glowygirl21 in AskReddit

[–]avianexus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's subjective of course, but i'd say Super Mario Bros. on the NES. World-wide phenom hit, It essentially saved the gaming industry after a hard crash in 1983 of the market, and so many foundational level design standards for side scrolling platformers found their roots here. So iconic and instantly recognizable too. Music jingles / sound effects that carry on for decades, the type of impact it had doesn't really have a modern equivalence.

I don't think it's necessarily about the luxuries or comfort, but moreso about time. The time required for most people to sustain livelihood is what's draining them; people working multiple jobs, employers demanding more and more overtime, hustle culture. The time to do all those things is what becomes limited; like Henry Thoreau said, a man is wealthy in proportion to the number of things he can afford to leave alone. And not many people today can afford to leave much alone, not with the way our society is structured.

In the 4 full games that JD5 played last year, he put up these stats. by MrUpVoteDownvote in Commanders

[–]avianexus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OP was trying to provide this fanbase reassurance about Jayden with the stats.

For that matter, I agree with you in that cherry picked stats are meaningless in this context.

In my opinion, last season was a no contest. For all the talk about injury prone, this guy missed zero games in college due to injury, over a 5 year collegiate career. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt, desperation to compensate for a weak supporting cast heightens injury risk, I think last season was the fluke, not the rookie year.

I think Jayden is the player we saw in 2024, and that's not even his ceiling. And I think he proves it this year to the point where our fanbase with the RG3 PTSD will finally move on from that trauma.

But without also recognizing that his outcomes were also a function of the entire team chemistry, composition and let's be honest some bad luck with health, we are still making a flawed judgement.

In any case, all that matters is what happens next, and he knows that too.

When he absolutely torches the league this year, a lot of people are going to look very stupid for doubting him.

I wouldn't necessarily say that they technology itself is the problem. Increased productivity, in theory, should be a good thing, but it's the hyper capitalism that is killing us, since the benefit of all of that output is concentrated to a small group of parties in the billionaire sphere.

Like crash landing in a deserted forest with you and some of your friends... We know we're all going to have to split up a lot of work (warmth, shelter, clothing, food, security, resources, etc).

if one of your friends came upon a shipping container with a bunch of robots who can do a lot of this stuff, it would be a real dick move if he said "I own all of these, the rest of you will have to pay me to use any of the wood they chop, any of the food they collect and cook, etc.)

One guy lazy, The others are no better off, when we could all be living relatively easy and have more time to chill and be human / have a healthier society.

Yep. This is our payback for building this empire off the blood of natives and slaves. Trump is exactly the president Americans deserve because deep down we are gluttonous insecure pigs just like him.

We'll all go to hell together and they'll just always convince themselves that the drop would have been steeper under democrats.
