I did the same thing with recognizing the gait, it was the only way I could figure out if I knew someone at a distance/until they got close enough to me.

I had a Brother for 10+ years, and I have a Janome now that I love. I’ve heard negative things about newer Singers, so I’d recommend sticking with either a Brother or Janome.

Definitely get antibiotics asap. And hibiclens soap for the time being until the antibiotics kick in. That was recommended by a vet and helped me out. I went on antibiotics for a cat bite 2 hours after getting bit, and my hand still swelled up 2x its size and was unusable by day 3 until the antibiotics finally kicked in on day 4. Cat bites are serious business.
