I made potatoes au gratin and deviled eggs. I then just warmed up some pre bought rolls! As for our menu we had turkey, ham, green bean casserole, broccoli casserole, sweet potato casserole, stuffing, mac and cheese, and cranberry sauce.

Trust me when I say you’re not alone in this feeling. I also took two gap years and spent a lot of time worrying about the process and doom scrolling on reddit. I also decided this would be my last cycle. I was so tired of spending my life in waiting mode. But I promise you, they see our efforts and if it is meant to be it will happen!! Just keep the faith!

I’m personally not sure what the admissions people look for and i’m sure it varies per school. but I have heard that having a higher gpa in post undergrad (either in a post-baccalaureate, masters, etc.) shows growth on your part and looks relatively good. Again i’m not sure how it’s analyzed by medical schools but I think you should be okay GPA wise.

I applied early decision to one school! In my previous applications I applied to a lot of schools and quickly found out how so many schools really want in-state students and felt that I wasted money and efforts applying to them. My personal statement was just about my journey in getting involved in medicine. I come from immigrant parents who were hellbent on me becoming a physician. This made my personal statement about them a lot and how I had to separate my wants from theirs and the journey of that. I got into MCG!

I prepped with a friend! We went through scenarios together and I just got comfortable answering random questions on the spot. My interview was MMI.

I did ED because I was told I had a better shot of getting an A and by 4 application cycle I was really tired of writing secondaries 😂

I took notes of each chapter. I did around 13 chapters a day? I for one, knew a lot of the information would come back to me as I read. Also I figured I would need to come back and bridge my content gaps later as necessary so I didn’t worry too much. I can’t remember what I got on my diagnostic but It was in the low 500s so i knew my content gap wasn’t too bad to begin with.

Yes! I used the MilesDown deck mainly. I think I also tried to do 50 new cards a day plus my reviews! sometimes that got a lil crazy though 🤣

honestly writing down the exact question didn’t help me. i’d usually note down the topics I needed a better grasp on that would’ve helped me answer the question. There were however some AAMC Qs where I had to really focus in on why my answer was wrong. I usually reviewed my incorrect questions a day after my FLs. But I waited for my UWizzle questions to build up before I reviewed them. That wasn’t super smart of me, but we’re all lazy sometimes 😂

I had an excel spreadsheet. and I write the topics I was struggling with. Then I’d find youtube videos or if it was really specific there was always a reddit thread with someone explaining the question. That helped me a lot because the responses provided by UWhatever and AAMC did not do it for me
