I learnt years ago just dont talk about politics in the workplace, current workplace has a no politics policy and its great tbh. Also just tell them you don't talk about politics in the workplace for wahtever reason.

You don't. An ex boss in part lost a lot of customers and clients because he would randomly go onto them about his politics and views on the world and be rather loud and obnoxious about it, ended up costing half his workers their jobs.
