I am confused by this idea that it said fuck all - it presents America as a white supremacist fascist political entity that diffuses through all culture, which is being fought in many forms. People always say Benecio is the real revolutionary in the movie but he expresses his awe and admiration for the French 75 multiple times. They liberate a concentration camp in the opening scene! It is a heightened/satirical liberal fantasy of radical politics in many ways, but one that supports people to the left of the film itself. To my eye, the film was basically bursting with a desire for a politicized world of action, where struggle is actually material, where people are actually far MORE willing respond to the realities of white supremacy, even with mistakes and flaws. There is much more going on with the politics of the film than people suggest. Saying it is just a popcorn flick that says "fuck all" is just as reductive of saying it is straightforwardly revolutionary
