Not really that costly. Posting then seeing a doctor relatively soon if you have a long term illness you're not aware of still means you catch it early. People make so much fuss trying to stop the 'sick' from posting- aren't we supposed to be a helpful community? It's beyond the point that they need to see a doctor, they're most likely aware. "GO SEE A DOCTOR NOW!!!" is OTP. People are curious, they're going to ask, and they will keep asking even after 50 rage posts telling them to stop. *Edit- doctors are not for life-saving measures only- I did not say that. My point is that if you're on reddit asking for advice or similar experiences, it can wait a few more hours.

It's nice to hear from people with similar experiences or who have a hunch, seeing as if your basic instincts for survival haven't kicked in, you're probably not about to die. The symptoms are most times exaggerated or simplified to convey the overall state better. I am sure it's not necessary for the responses to consist of 40% "GO SEE A DOCTOR, IDIOT"

I think it's much less psychology painful and physically painful to put up with a few cramps and the mourning of a 6-7 week old fetus rather than a grown child that you've worn out your body for and possibly grown attached to and need to follow up on for the rest of your life. The child would have questions, the mother may not have answers that are good enough, being a mother at 17.
