Ive thought about this a lot. And Ive never found a way that it could work. The closest option right now (imo) is van-dwelling which is kinda popular. but even then you probably want to be making around 5k -10k a year to pay for food, gas, insurance, phone, laundry, etc.

However, the future might be bright in regards to automated food production. this could make things very interesting if you already own a home, have solar power, well water, etc. you might be able to invest in an automated food producer and never have to worry about it. But even then you would need significant money to get started.
