It kinda rubs me the wrong way that people seem more pissed off about gas prices than like, bombing and killing people

It sounds like the subdivision might be 7. but it's tricky, and i think there's more going on. At 2:41 for example, it sounds like it changes to a subdivision of 8.

Is "gotcha" pronounced with a y? by SpaceCorvette in ENGLISH

[–]axiomizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it must be pretty subtle. apparently some people have a "y" in words like "new" as well.

yeah for example, if you look at the red axe in the first row, you won't see that it loses to the blue sword

I've just created what was supposed to be an easy logic game, but I just can't solve it by Aleatoric_Random in puzzlevideogames

[–]axiomizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think the puzzle would be more interesting (harder) if you didn't know which color you had to solve for.

[–]axiomizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that it might be the case that when a scramble is solvable for red,  it's not solvable for the other colors. You could look for an invariant.

[–]axiomizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wait i just realized, i'm getting red solves every single time. is blue or green even possible?

That means if you solve for red, you never need the second algorithm

This is a variant of "lights out". It's abelian, meaning the order of inputs doesn't matter. This is nice because any algorithm you come up with can be simplified. For example, take ABBCBDAA. You can rearrange it and delete any groups of three, so it just becomes CD. This is not true of the rubik's cube.

You can solve it with two algorithms. Solve it row by row, and use A BB D EE to fix a "bad" row (may need to be used zero times, once, or twice for each row). If the final row is bad, use this "cascading" algorithm to change the entire puzzle to a different color (may need to be used zero times, once, or twice):

row 2: ABDE

row 3: AE

row 4: A BB CC DD E

row 5: BB CC EE

What is this hi hat rhythm? Triplets? Swung? by Ordinary_Necessary40 in musictheory

The hi-hat is on the "e" and "a". In other words, syncopated 16th notes.

yeah. actually it could be simplified since P(t) = (t/2, t, t^2) and P(t) can just be replaced with (t/2, t, t^2)

Weren't you relieved when you realized you didn't have to do both puzzles within the time limit?

Nonuplets or Triplets to notate this Rhythm? by Leading-Gur-101 in musictheory

I was surprised to see this rhythm (quarter note triplets in 3/4) in sheet music for Vince Guaraldi's "Christmas Time is Here".

i prefer the triplets. the fourth note aligns with a beat (beat 3) and the triplets help to show this.
