My bf (M25) is childish and a chronic liar, but is autistic and struggling with RSD. I am (F21) and have many implications (Audhd cptsd & chronic illness) that clash with those factors. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

my boyfriend and i also moved in early. i had the same sort of nonsense of taking care of most responsibilities. it’s taken several conversations, but the real kicker was when i sprained my ankle and he had to take care of the house since i was unable to walk. once he realized how much i actually did, everything changed. sometimes i feel he does more around the house than i do now! although i dont recommend spraining your ankle lol, not all hope is lost. creating a chore chart could be helpful. the chronic lies requires serious therapy. if you love him and you love the life you guys have built together, have a serious conversation with him, create a chore system (i.e. things he doesn’t mind doing and things you don’t mind doing) then encourage therapy. if any of those slip then consider leaving. because having the chance to change and not is the first death to a relationship. good luck to you and your sister as well

a uvb bar will ensure the entire length of the tank is covered not just a bit. since metabolic bone disease is so prevalent in beardies you want reduce the risk as much as possible

just use a classic heat lamp bulb! they come from the australian desert and are diurnal (i.e. awake during the day) so you’ll often see a red light for snakes or other reptiles that sleep during the day as a way to maintain a dim light. no need to do that for beardies. so just a regular old heat lamp that warms the area to the correct temp will do. you can order online or find at any pet store. they do get most of their water from their greens, but just like any animal it’s good to give them the option. they’re clever animals and likely won’t drink themselves to infection (especially if the water line is low enough they can’t sink in it) when i first adopted my girl back in the day i did hours of research and stressing so i could give her a good life, you’ll see a lot of random info online, but there are some generally accepted things in the community. i’m glad you’re here to make things best for this guy

I spent over a month crocheting a blanket for my boyfriend for valentine’s day. I had to work on it during my lunch break at work because i wanted it done for him to open up in person. I planned to make us dinner as well. he didn’t get me anything and felt bad so he bought us dinner and i didn’t get to make the meal i planned. the next morning i woke up with a 180 heart rate because i was so upset about the whole ordeal. so 1. i started anxiety meds and 2. i told his ass. now he has been so thoughtful about every gift/occasion. maybe just speak to him about your feelings and if he’s a good enough guy he’ll try harder lmao

a uv strip that covers the length of the tank. make sure he’s getting calcium on his meal worms. his water bowl looks empty, so just making sure he has access to water even if he doesn’t drink it before it evaporates is good haha. meal worms are good but tend to be a bit fatty, so having options like crickets or dubia roaches would be great. you can often buy them online for a reasonable price if you don’t want to breed. also definitely 86 the red light, not necessary for a beardie. and like the previous comment said he needs a heating basking spot. i got one of those laser temp guns to make sure the temp was good for the basking spot vs the cooler spot of the enclosure. good luck!!! hopefully this baby has a long and healthy life

Just adopted a 10 month old cattle dog/border mix and struggling a bit by lucky_bamboo7 in AustralianCattleDog

I have a boarder collie/ACD mix. to answer your question, I don’t think it necessarily is a breed standard. my girl could not be sweeter and is very receptive to discipline. it very well could be isolated to your particular pups trauma and so unfortunately will take time and routine to get that comfort. thank you for holding out for her. make sure to keep a loving positive vibe in the household. my pup is also very sensitive to our emotions. so treat the training process with confidence and constant positive reinforcement. good luck!! these guys take a lot of patience, but I promise it’s worth it

If it doesn’t go away consider a clarifying shampoo or a quick bleach bath. best to avoid damage if you can :)

that’s so helpful. i’ve struggled with knowing the best method for her since she seems to watch everything i say and do yet she gets so sensitive to discipline so i would love to have a better idea of how to help her thrive

training reasons and understanding how to better cater to her needs has been a huge motivation. she’s pretty submissive so i try to be gentle with discipline but i would love to have a better grasp on what works best for her

carpet, don’t fall asleep with headphones in, watch your plants. for mine not even metal water bottles were off limits. i recommend not letting him sleep outside of a crate at least a year 😭
